Preliminary Project – Research & Planning• How did you think about target audience?During the process of choosing a specific target audience type for my magazine, Iconsidered various aspects in which would appeal to a specific group of people. Ofhaving the basic knowledge that my magazine would be aimed at people in education ihad to reduce the group to either college, secondary, primary or university. I decided tochose college, as that is the stage I am currently at and I felt I would have moreknowledge of this area.
Preliminary Project – Research & Planning• How did awareness of that audience impact upon your visual design and choice of language? In considering the audience type, I had to relate features to interest the studentaudience. I chose to add a competition advertisement to the magazine cover as it willkeep the audience attentiveness. In addition to this the use of the product being alaptop relates to the audience type, as college students are more likely to need either alaptop or desktop to help them along with work. I have also added other features suchas different fashion elements, as this is usually a common talk effort in young people. Ithas made an overall impact on my design on a whole as I have been able to adapt themagazine cover specifically to the target audience.
Preliminary Project – Research & Planning• What key points did you learn about Adobe Photoshop and InDesign in constructing your artefacts?Whilst using both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, I have been able to developmy skills using them to create a final magazine cover and contents page. I have usedthem to improve my knowledge further, using new told within it and creating a finalpiece at my highest standard. The softwares have allowed me to use newfeatures, such as using the ‘gridlines’ in InDesign to ensure there is specific alignmentand the images and text are in place.
