  • Thanks Shalini for your honest response. Sharing information is a delicate subject. I believe that with the availability of copying any slide as a photo with the available tools anybody can easily 'steal' your work without having to download it. Adding watermarks might be more helpful. I made a decision that slideshare is for sharing and the real author gets the credit because the date of publishing is recorded. If a hacker steals the presentation and republishes because it then it shall be beyond the date of the authentic publication. In summary, I do not publish a material if I am concerned about its downloading.

  • Thanks Ali so much for your kind words. That's an interesting point about about downloading. I believe by making the presentation public you can share it easily by giving links to the presentation and embedding it where you like. That way it is fair to the person creating the presentation and helping others seeing and using it.
I would love to hear what your thoughts are about sharing and downloading - where does one draw a line in giving information freely?

  • Bravo Shalini as your presentation scores 25 out of 25. I am a little bit surprised as you state on Slide 20 'website content is easy to share'; yet it is not easy to share your presentation as downloading is disallowed!
