 Recruitment is a process of seeking and
attracting a pool of people from which
qualified candidates for job vacancies can be
chosen.

The lack of competent physical and mental facu
lties the absence of legal capability to perform a

 Workforce diversity is a workforce
consisting of a broad mix of workers from
different racial and ethnic background of
different ages and genders, and of different
domestic and national cultures.
 MYDIN business activity is in retailing and
wholesaling. The products range from food line,
household, soft-lines and hard-lines items.
 Hard-line products include hardware, electrical,
stationery, porcelain and toys.
 Whilst soft-line comprises of textiles and fabrics
products. Food line includes confectionery, drinks
and beverages, delicatessen and dairy products.
 Each of the branches has their own business
category, based on the capacity of goods traded.
 The category comprises hypermarket, emporium,
minimarket, convenience shop, franchise store and
bazaar.
 Currently, MYDIN operates more than 90 outlets
nationwide inclusive of 16 hypermarkets, 16
emporiums, 3 bazaars, 48 minimarkets (MyMydin),
8 convenience shops (MyMart) and 6 franchise
outlets (Mydin Mart). Each of the hypermarkets is
located in MYDIN Mall.
 MYDIN operates its business based on ‘Halal’
concepts and stresses on honesty, sincerity and
good discipline in all aspects of its business.
 What is the challenges for disabled workers
to work in an organization?
 society's perception of the disabled workers.
 some employers have not been open-minded
and not willing to employ the disabled.
 Attitude of disabled people that is less
confident and not believing their self.
 lack of exposure to attract disabled people to
work with them.
 Lack of basic facilities in workplace for
disabled workers.
 Mydin one of the company that have initiative to
recruit disabled workers.
 Mydin has hired and trained 90 disabled
employees, who are now working in Mydin
branches throughout the country, including Sabah
and Sarawak.
 Mydin efforts will encourage others organization
to give the disabled a chance to work and
contribute to building the country's economy
 Increase awareness campaign for
community to make them appreciate
disabled workers better.
 Employ should be more open-minded in
recruiting disabled workers and provide
employees with more personal support.Eg,
financial aid with hearing aids or help in
having their cars specially adapted.
 The disabled workers should gain knowledge
and learn some skill so that they don’t feel
less inferiority.
 provide a right platform for the disabled
employee to involved in the field of
employment. Eg, Social Welfare Department
of Mydin hold a job opportunities carnival.
 “open door fund” provides a subsidy of up to
$100,000 to a company that redesigns jobs,
modifies the workplace, or funds training and
integration programmers for disabled
workers. So that they will work in
comfortable atmosphere.
