Employment Contract

  1. 1. EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT BETWEEN: Sapid Sweets Unit #3 123 Brown Street Ourtown, BC V1W 2Y3 AND: Iva White 454 Cost Road Ourtown, BC V3H 3L8 Engagement: Sapid sweets agree to engage the services of Iva White on the terms of this Agreement to perform the duties of the Receptionist. The Receptionist position is located at Unit #3, 123 Brown Road, Ourtown, BC V1W 2Y3 Relationship: Iva White will provide receptionist services under the terms of this agreement and in accordance with the scheduled hours at Sapid Sweets effective July 14, 2005. Continued employment is dependent on satisfactory job performance and the avoidance of serious infractions of sapid sweets policy that would warrant termination. Responsibilities (a) DUTIES – Iva White is responsible for the completion, execution and continued acceptable performance of the duties of the position of Receptionist. (b) HOURS OF WORK – the normal hours of work for the position of Receptionist is Tuesday-Saturday 12:30-7:00 with a 30 minute lunch break. In all such circumstances, Sapid Sweets will provide Iva White with as much notice as possible of any change in work hours or any temporary schedule changes.
  2. 2. (c) OVERTIME – It is expected that all work will be completed during the normally scheduled work hours. In the exceptional incidences when it may be necessary to work additional hours. (d) UNABLE TO ATTEND WORK DUE TO ILLNESS OR INJURY – In the event that Iva White is unable to attend work due to illness or injury, Iva White must inform Sapid Sweets office of their inability to attend work, by calling the Main office (e) PERSONALCALLS/COMPUTER USAGE – It expected and a matter of policy that personal calls and/or use of computers for personal items will take place only during recognized breaks and when telephones or computers are not otherwise needed. Long distance calls are not to be placed from work unless they are: 1) Work related; or 2) At the expense of Iva White i.e. calling card, charged to home, etc. If an employee places a long distance callthat results in a chargeto Sapid Sweets Iva White will be responsible for the cost of the call and an additional $5.00 administration fee per call. (f) PARKING SPACES – Parking is provided at the Sapid Sweets parking area. (g) COMMUNICATION - Communications, contact, correspondence or program discussions concerning budgets, diagnostics, statistics, development of action/proposal plans, Sapid sweets personnel/staff, or Sapid Sweets program protocol between Sapid Sweets referral organizations will be done by or approved through the Senior Management, or their designate only. (h) CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION – i. Iva White acknowledges that certain material and information related to our patients, service providers, programs or program participants is confidential. Iva White recognizes that the confidential information is the sole property of sapid sweets and Iva White will exercise his or her best efforts and due diligence to protect and maintain the confidentiality of the information or property concerned. Iva White shall not, directly or indirectly, use himself or herself or another, or disclose to another any confidential information, whether or not acquired, learned, obtained or developed by Iva White alone or in conjunction with others, except as such disclosure or use may be required in connection with his or her employment or as may be consented to in writing by sapid sweets. ii. The confidential information is and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of sapid sweets regardless of whether such information was generated by Iva Whiteor by others, and Iva White agrees that upon termination of this Agreement he or she shall deliver promptly to sapid sweets all such tangibleparts of the confidential information including, data, notes reports, proposals, client lists, correspondence, materials, marketing or sales information, computer programs, equipment or the documents or property which are in the possession or under the control of Iva White without retaining copies thereof.
  3. 3. iii. Each of the foregoing obligations of Iva White in this clause shall also apply to any confidential information of clients, joint venture parties, contractors and other entities, of any nature whatsoever, with whom sapid sweets or any associate or affiliate of sapid sweets has business. iv. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this clause, Iva White shall not be liable for the disclosure or use of any confidential information to the extent that: a) The confidential information is or becomes available to the public from a source other than Iva White and through no fault of Iva White ; or b) Iva White lawfully obtains the confidential information from a third party or a source outside the Agreement. v. The covenants and Agreements contained in this clause shall survive the termination of this Agreement and the employment relationship with sapid sweets. Compensation and Benefits Sapid sweets agree to pay Iva White $12.00 per hour. (a) Pay shall be received on the 15th and 30th of each month; (b) Ten (10) working days’ vacation leave per annum; (c) Three (3) floating days leave per annum. Probation Iva White will be on probation for a period of three (3) months from the date of initial hire. Iva White will be on probation only once during their employment with sapid sweets, unless: i. Iva White is off work for more than thirty (30) days for which he or she does not receive pay; or ii. Iva White is promoted to a new position; or iii. Iva White is the successful candidate for a new position in the organization. The Administration, or their respective designate, have the authority to waive or extend the probation period of Iva White.
  4. 4. Understanding I have carefully read over this entire Agreement and thoroughly understand it in every respect and agree to be bound by its terms.
