  4. 4. Entrepreneurial orientation… “The propensity to act autonomously, innovate and take risks, proactive with regard to opportunities...”

Entrepreneurship in the context of the teaching & learning process… "a process through which learners acquire a broad set of competencies that can bring greater individual, social and economic benefits since the competences acquired lend themselves to application in every aspect of people's lives."
  6. 6. European framework on Key Competences for Lifelong Learning* - 8 key competences: 1. Communication in the mother tongue 2. Communication in foreign languages 3. Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology 4. Digital competence 5. Learning to learn 6. Social and civic competences 7. Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship 8. Cultural awareness and expression
  7. 7. Funding from the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme / DG Enterprise. 3-year project (2013-2015) - 11 consortium partners - 5 private sector partners. Target group = Teachers primary, secondary and vocational schools (over 4,000 teachers in 18 European countries) A Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning has been designed to provide educators with a diverse range of tools and methods that support entrepreneurial learning About the Entrepreneurial School Project:

  9. 9. 8 National Focus Groups search for and verify best practice in entrepreneurial learning identify a pilot network of 80 primary and secondary schools in 8 countries propose models which will be tested in schools and adjusted to national school curricula. Available in English and translated in at least 8 languages

  12. 12. Search Good Practice Schools and Case Study Schools: Examples of visions, plans, job descriptions and frameworks to learn from and to use in your own school from several countries Case Study Schools which are good practitioners of entrepreneurial learning.
  13. 13. Two web-based tools: 1. self-assessment for teachers in primary, secondary and vocational school; 2. a quality checklist for schools.

The EU Entrepreneurial Schools Award: The consortium established an Entrepreneurial Schools Award in the 3rd year of the project, ‘branded’ as an EU award. 11 schools from Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and United Kingdom were awarded during a ceremony that took place at the European Parliament in Brussels on October 15, 2015.
