Schneider Electric’s DTN Guardian3 terminal automation system meets the challenge of tracking real-time inventory data to help operators anticipate shortages, prevent downtime, and maximize profits while keeping customers satisfied. Introduction While terminal automation and supply management solutions have been in production for more than 20 years, current market conditions call for a new standard for the tracking and communication of inventory details to ensure steady availability of your product. Knowing the where, what, and when of your inventory optimizes operations and frees up you and your staff to focus on the core business and what it takes to stay ahead — and not be distracted by the infrastructure behind the scenes. Schneider Electric’s DTN Guardian3 Terminal Automation System With hundreds of trucks and thousands of gallons per minute moving in and out of your terminals, you need to be able to track inventory precisely and efficiently, all while keeping costs low. This challenge of up-to-the-minute inventory tracking is at the core of Schneider Electric’s DTN Guardian3 (DTN G3). DTN G3 is a cutting-edge terminal automation system that gives you real-time inventory tracking, information and controls, as well as greater visibility of your single/multiple terminal activity. Its speed and efficiency mean you don’t have to worry about the inventory and controls side of the business. DTN Guardian3 gives you real-time inventory tracking to optimize your operations and help you stay ahead.  The global at-a-glance snapshot view gives you visibility of terminal activity at each lane, making it easy to monitor volume coming from all terminals, as well as taking advantage of changing market conditions to cover hedges  Flexibly share real-time inventory with and automatically schedule report delivery to your customers for the highest level of service  When a warning or alert level for inventory is reached, email notifications are automatically sent to the designated personnel Automation is key Keep your inventory levels optimized the easy way: Automated tracking notifies key personnel when it’s time to take action.  Automatically calculate your terminal inventory positions after any product movement and integrate it into your corporate network  Laser bills of lading allow you to store BOLs electronically instead of archiving physical paper, saving you an enormous amount of time and providing you with a more accurate understanding of your inventory  Streamlined time, physical month-to-date (MTD), book, and book MTD inventories by tank or shipper Bottom-line benefits of DTN G3 Real-time inventory tracking and knowledge are at the heart of your operations. With DTN G3, you can more quickly and accurately track your inventory levels and reap the results:  Greater demand management  Reduced inventory risks  Quickly review inventory data when supply is tight  Anticipate shortages and prevent downtime  Faster truck loading and increased throughput  Improved driver interaction

To keep up with this growth, Caljet planned to double its storage capacity with a total of 12 truck lanes that could handle 750 trucks per day at a loading rate of 1,200 gallons per minute. Inventory tracking and reconciliation was crucial in order to accurately determine what is leaving each of the terminals. With the DTN G3 terminal automation system, Caljet used real-time inventory display to speed reconciliation and reporting the book-to-physical volume. The company maintains separate DTN G3 systems at each of their three terminals to ensure redundancy to keep trucks loading. DTN G3 allows trucks to load faster and Caljet to increase throughput by moving more vehicles in and out of its facilities. With accurate and detailed inventory tracking, the company has strengthened its ability to efficiently manage customer demand, reduced the risk of inventory shortages, and ultimately provided a better experience for its customers.
