JOB NATURE IN THE US MARKETThere are two major types of placements in the US market. Permanent (Full Time) Placement Temporary( Contract) PlacementPermanent Placement:The company hires person on permanent( Long term) basis. Companyhas to provide salary, all kinds of placements.Temporary( Contract) Placement:The term contracting refers to a situation in which a person works for acompany who is not his/her employer of record. A contract placement canhappen in a matter of hours or a couple of days.

US VISA AND TAX TERMS US Citizens Green Card Holders (GC) : The person is authorized to liveand work in the United States of America on a permanent basis. EAD - Employment Authorization Document, this status isprovided to those H1 holders whose GC is about to beconfirmed in few months. H-1B Visa : People who are sponsored by their employers whoare being permitted by US to work in US for some specific time.The duration of stay is three years, extendable to six years

US VISA AND TAX TERMS – CONT’D TN Visa ( North American Free Trade Agreement - NAFTA)Permit Holder / Canadian Citizens - They do not require any H1and will only be requiring an employment letter and can get a TNpermit (allows them to work in US in a matter of couple of hoursfrom Canadian Authorities and start working in US Corp to Corp (C2C) : An arrangement where a corporation thathas a job hires another corporation to hire, insure, and take careof the tax and legal responsibilities of hiring an employee to fillthis job 1099 : Equal to self-employed and no taxes withheld but taxespaid on either quarterly basis or annual basis based upon termof project.
