2. WHAT IS RESEARCH ?
Research is simple term refers to search for knowledge or
information. It is a scientific and systematic search for
information on a particular topic or issue. It is also known as
the art of scientific investigation.
It is also refers systematic design, collection, analysis and the
reporting the findings and solutions for the particular
problem.
3. NATURE OF RESEARCH
It directed towards the Solution for a particular problem
It emphasized the development of many theories &
Principles
It demands accurate observation & description
It involves experts
It is careful recorded and reported
4. OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH
Promotes better decision making
To identifies the problem area
To formulates the strategies and policies
To optimum utilization of available resources
To identifying the marketing opportunities
6. It requires Experts
Time constraint
Lack of Available data
Lack of Support from Management
Benefits v/s Cost
LIMITATIONS OF RESEARCH
7. CRITERIA / FEATURES OF GOOD RESEARCH
Clear Objectives
Research Procedure must be Clear and Well planned
Good and Suitable research design
Systematic Analysis
Clear Conclusion
The research report should be disclosed with
frankness
8. TYPES OF RESEARCH
Exploratory Research
Descriptive Research
Applied Research
Pure/Fundamental / Basic Research
Conceptual Research
11. 1) Exploratory Research :-
Exploratory research provides insights into an particular issue or
situation. The results of exploratory research are not usually useful for
decision-making by themselves, but they can provide significant insight
into a given situation.
2) Descriptive Research:-
Descriptive Research is also know as Statistical Research,
which describes the data and characteristics about the particular facts
( Population or Phenomenon) being studied . Simply stated, it is a fact
finding investigation. It answer the questions who, what, when, where,
why ?
12. 3) Applied Research :-
Applied Research aims at finding a solution for an immediate problem
faced by any business organization. Applied research is considered as one of
the practical problem-solving technique.

action with the objective of obtaining workable solutions to the given problem.
In this type of research the solution will be identify through practical aspect but
not theoretical aspects.
10) Evaluation Research:-
This type of research is mainly used to evaluate the performance of
any planned activity. (Either it may be any project or Programmed)
