NCAD and the AUID <ul><li>Per direction of the OCIO, NASA is consolidating individual Microsoft Active Directory forests at each Center into a single agency-wide forest </li></ul><ul><li>Standardization of User Ids across the agency is necessary </li></ul><ul><li>Some, not all, employees will receive a new user id (approximately 800 at HQ) </li></ul><ul><li>Use of the AUID is the first step in migrating to the NASA Consolidated Active Directory (NCAD) </li></ul><ul><li>Use of the AUID for all system access will occur over time; initially only systems that authenticate to AD (domain, e-mail, CICO) </li></ul><ul><li>Joint ODIN/HITSS project </li></ul>

Macintosh OSX 10.5 (Leopard) Status <ul><ul><li>SR 229 for testing and review of the Leopard operating system has an ECD of August 22, 2008. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Current Activities: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Resolving issues uncovered in application testing with AdmitMac and FileMaker Pro </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Security review is in process </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ODIN currently expects to begin production deployment of Leopard by mid-September, 2008. </li></ul></ul>

Microsoft Vista Status <ul><li>April 21, 2008 ITMB Memo states that Microsoft Vista deployment is to be postponed until after October 1, 2008 </li></ul><ul><li>A working version of the Common Enterprise Image (CEI) based on Vista is expected in January 2009 for local center testing and review </li></ul><ul><li>Security and custom application testing will need to occur prior to production release which is expected in April 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>Efforts are under way to deploy an infrastructure which will support an automated deployment </li></ul>
