All the brass is on the outside and is not comely (Isaiah 53:2b). www.kotipetripaavola.com Isaiah 53:2b KJV 2b He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. Isaiah 53:2b KJV However, after you enter into the tabernacle you see gold and beauty – the inside of Christ is beautiful! Even the materials of the tabernacle speak of Christ. The wood speaks of His humanity and the gold, His divinity. White is purity, blue is promise/prophecy, purple is royalty, and red is blood. There is no black in the tabernacle because black denotes sin and judgment. There is much more that can be said and explored. Consider studying 1 Corinthians 10:1-11, and Hebrews 8-10 to see how the Holy Spirit develops typology and prophecy. Christ the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, is not only proclaimed in the NT, but also foreshadowed in the OT, not only in direct prophecies, but also in many types and figures. www.scrollpublishing.com
  7. 7. Through Christ Who tabernacled among us we have access to God, fellowship with God, sustenance in eternal life, and servanthood in the Royal Priesthood. The tabernacle was the temporary dwelling place to be replaced later by the Temple. www.bereanwatchman.files.wordpress.com The Tabernacle symbolized Jesus’ first coming. John 1:18 NASB God, Who cannot be known unless He reveals Himself, became most fully known because Jesus explained Him. Jesus is the explanation of God. He is the answer to the question, “What is God like?” Jesus declared that truth to His disciples: John 14:7-9 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” John 14:7-9
  10. 10. Explained translates a form of the verb exegeomai, from which the English word “exegesis” (the method or practice of interpreting Scripture) derives. Jesus is the only One qualified to exegete or interpret God to man, since “no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him” (Matthew 11:27). The prologue presents an introductory synopsis of John's entire gospel. It introduces themes that will be expanded throughout the rest of the book. None are more important than this: Jesus, Who existed in intimate fellowship with the Father from all eternity (v. 1), became flesh (v. 14), brought the full expression of grace and truth to mankind (v. 17), and revealed (exegeted) God to man (v. 18). How He did so will be seen in the remainder of John's gospel. John clearly defined the purpose in writing his gospel in John 20:31—that his readers “may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing they may have life in His name.” John 1:19-36 KJV 19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. 21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. 22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? 23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. 24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; 27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
  11. 11. 28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. 32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. 35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! John 1:19-36 KJV Luke 16:16 KJV 16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke 16:16 KJV John the Baptist was the last of the prophets and he was the first herald. Malachi 3:1a Isaiah 40:3 Matthew 3 Malachi 3:1a KJV 1a Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: Malachi 3:1a KJV Isaiah 40:3 KJV 3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isaiah 40:3 KJV  God anticipated hostile jamming when He communicated the Bible.  If a book of the Bible were to be removed, you would not lose the message concerning Jesus.
  12. 12. John the Baptist was born in March (between 6 BC and 2 BC) during the Feast of the Passover. Jesus was born after 6 pm (6:15 pm – 7:45 pm) Jerusalem time in September (between 6 BC and 2 BC) during the Feast of the Trumpets. www.bit.ly/11ixqwC Major Jewish Holidays Holiday Hebrew Year 5774 Description Rosh Hashana Sep 5-6, 2013 The Jewish New Year Yom Kippur Sep 14, 2013 Day of Atonement Sukkot Sep 19-20, 2013 Feast of Tabernacles Shmini Atzeret Sep 26, 2013 Eighth Day of Assembly Simchat Torah Sep 27, 2013 Day of Celebrating the Torah Chanukah Nov 28-Dec 5, 2013 The Jewish festival of rededication, also known as The Festival of Lights Purim Mar 16, 2014 Purim is one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar Pesach Apr 15-16, 2014 Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread Shavuot Jun 4-5, 2014 Festival of Weeks, commemorates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai Tish'a B'Av Aug 5, 2014 The Ninth of Av, fast commemorating the destruction of the two Temples www.t2.gstatic.com www.t2.gstatic.com
