  • Excellent! I am a Science teacher (Physics) at a C.of E secondary school in Bromley, England. As a believer myself, I always try to bring Science and the Christian faith together and your powerpoint is a God sent. If it is not much trouble can I ask you for a copy, because I would like to print it out and put it on my information board in my classroom. Well done and keep up the good work.

  2. 2. THE BIBLE: scientific fact or myth?
  3. 3. Can the Bible pass a science test?• Can a true scientist be a Christian?• Can Christians prove mankind is here because ofintelligent design rather than by cosmic accident andevolution?
  4. 4. Job: 38• After Jobs trials andvisits from his friendsBildad, Zophar, Eliphazand the mysterious Elihu,God speaks to Job froma whirlwind.• Surprisingly God givesJob a science test!• Lets compare this 4200year old books contentsto modern scientific fact.
  5. 5. Job 38 KJV1 Then the Lord answered Job out of thewhirlwind, and said,2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel bywords without knowledge?3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for Iwill demand of thee, and answer thoume.4 Where wast thou when I laid thefoundations of the earth? declare, if thouhast understanding.
  6. 6. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, ifthou knowest? or who hath stretched theline upon it?6 Whereupon are the foundationsthereof fastened? or who laid the cornerstone thereof;7 When the morning stars sang together,and all the sons of God shouted for joy?8 Or who shut up the sea with doors,when it brake forth, as if it had issuedout of the womb?
  7. 7. 9 When I made the cloud the garmentthereof, and thick darkness aswaddlingband for it,10 And brake up for it my decreed place,and set bars and doors,11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come,but no further: and here shall thy proudwaves be stayed?12 Hast thou commanded the morningsince thy days; and caused the dayspringto know his place;
  8. 8. 13 That it might take hold of the ends ofthe earth, that the wicked might beshaken out of it?14 It is turned as clay to the seal; andthey stand as a garment.15 And from the wicked their light iswithholden, and the high arm shall bebroken.16 Hast thou entered into the springs ofthe sea? or hast thou walked in thesearch of the depth?
  9. 9. 17 Have the gates of death been openedunto thee? or hast thou seen the doors ofthe shadow of death?18 Hast thou perceived the breadth ofthe earth? declare if thou knowest it all.19 Where is the way where lightdwelleth? and as for darkness, where isthe place thereof,20 That thou shouldest take it to thebound thereof, and that thou shouldestknow the paths to the house thereof?
  10. 10. 21 Knowest thou it, because thou wastthen born? or because the number of thydays is great?22 Hast thou entered into the treasures ofthe snow? or hast thou seen the treasuresof the hail,23 Which I have reserved against the timeof trouble, against the day of battle andwar?24 By what way is the light parted, whichscattereth the east wind upon the earth?
  11. 11. 25 Who hath divided a watercourse forthe overflowing of waters, or a way forthe lightning of thunder;26 To cause it to rain on the earth, whereno man is; on the wilderness, whereinthere is no man;27 To satisfy the desolate and wasteground; and to cause the bud of thetender herb to spring forth?28 Hath the rain a father? or who hathbegotten the drops of dew?
  12. 12. 29 Out of whose womb came the ice?and the hoary frost of heaven, whohath gendered it?30 The waters are hid as with a stone,and the face of the deep is frozen.31 Canst thou bind the sweetinfluences of Pleiades, or loose thebands of Orion?32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth inhis season? or canst thou guideArcturus with his sons?
  13. 13. 33 Knowest thou the ordinances ofheaven? canst thou set the dominionthereof in the earth?34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to theclouds, that abundance of waters maycover thee?35 Canst thou send lightnings, that theymay go and say unto thee, Here we are?36 Who hath put wisdom in the inwardparts? or who hath given understandingto the heart?
  14. 14. 37 Who can number the clouds inwisdom? or who can stay the bottles ofheaven,38 When the dust groweth into hardness,and the clods cleave fast together?39 Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? orfill the appetite of the young lions,40 When they couch in their dens, andabide in the covert to lie in wait?41 Who provideth for the raven his food?when his young ones cry unto God, theywander for lack of meat.
