  7. 7. Christs return marks theend of our struggling for it isthen that He will transformthe body of our humblestate into conformity withthe body of His glory.
  8. 8. It is then that the eagerlyawaited redemption of thebody will take place(Romans 8).
  9. 9. Spirit was saved.*Justification (imputed)Soul has been being saved.*Sanctification (imparted)Body will be saved.*Glorification (completed)
  10. 10. Until then, the new creature(2 Cor 5:17) is incarcerated inthe unredeemedhumanness ("the body ofthis death") from which itlongs to be liberated.
  11. 11. We believers who live fromPentecost to the Rapturewill have our spirits joined toour resurrection bodies atthe Rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

  15. 15. Christ will totally transformthe bodies of all believers tomake us fit for Heaven.*Our bodies will have a newschematic; they will berefashioned and redesigned.
  16. 16. Like Christs resurrectionbody, our resurrectedbodies will be recognizableand we will be able to eat, talk, and walk, but will nothave the physical

  19. 19. We may be free to travel atthe speed of thought toanywhere in the universejust like our Lord andSaviour did.
  20. 20. Paul gives the most detaileddescription of believersresurrection bodies in1 Corinthians 15:35-49:“But someone will say,‘How are the dead raised?
  21. 21. And with what kind of bodydo they come?’There are heavenly bodiesand earthly bodies, but theglory of the heavenly is one,and the glory of the earthly

  25. 25. The combination of :b) a redeemed spiritc) a sanctified soul andd) a glorified body will enable all believers to perfectly manifest
  26. 26. the glory of God!
  27. 27. Sin, weakness, sorrow, disappointment, pain, suffering, doubt, fear, temptation, hate, andfailure will give way toperfect joy (Matt 25:21),
  28. 28. pleasure (Ps 16:11),knowledge (1 Cor 13:12),comfort (Luke 16:25), andlove (1 Cor 13:13).

  37. 37. LOVE1 Corinthians 13:1313“But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; butthe greatest of theseis love.”
  38. 38. *Salvation involves far morethan mere deliverance fromhell.*One of Gods ultimategoals in redeeming us is totransform our bodies
  39. 39. into conformity with thebody of His glory. (Phil 3:21)*We will "becomeconformed [summorphos;the same word translatedconformity in v. 21] to the

  41. 41. Our transformed bodies willpermit us finally to be theperfect creation Godintended for us to be for thejoy of perfect fellowshipwith Him forever.
  42. 42. These new bodies will allow us to see God!
  43. 43. *In the Beatitudes Jesussaid, "Blessed are the purein heart, for they shall seeGod" (Matt 5:8), while Johnwrote that in Heaven "therewill no longer be any curse;

  48. 48. Lest any doubt Christspower to transformbelievers bodies, Paul notesthat He will accomplish it bythe exertion of the powerthat He has even to subject

  58. 58. 26 The last enemy that willbe abolished is death.27 For HE HAS PUT ALLTHINGS IN SUBJECTIONUNDER HIS FEET.” 1 Corinthians 15:24-27
  59. 59. Pauls point is that if Christcan subject the entireuniverse to His sovereigncontrol, He has the power totransform believers bodiesinto His image.
  60. 60. Finally, we must focus onthe glorious hope that isours at the return of Christ— the transformation of ourbodies into conformity withHis.

  69. 69. The Isthmian Games wereheld both the year beforeand the year after theOlympic Games (the secondand fourth years of anOlympiad).
