Sam Childers journey from being a mercenary to a missionary who has saved lives of many children from the atrocities of Lord’s Resistance Army made him well known across the world for being a savior. Starting with a single mosquito net, Sam has managed to set up 6 orphanages where children are helped to be independent then also Sam Childers, the machine gun preacher has built schools for them. He has devoted his life to help and save children and all this started in the year of 1998 and recently being awarded the Mother Teresa International Award for Social justice. In his early age Sam was deep sunk into drug addiction, alcoholism, drug dealing, debauchery and eventually, a shot gunner with a drug dealer. Intimidated by his father’s words he started keeping all these things at arm’s length, converted to Christianity and started construction business. Something happened in 1998 that completely changed Sam Childers. Coming across the body of a child torn apart made him to change his mind and he pledged to God there and then to do whatever it takes to help the children of South Sudan. Since past 13 years Sam has helped 200 children and more than thousand with housing and education. Sam Childers mission is “to help when no one else will”. Almost 77% of the orphanages educate children till the age of 15 or 16 but Sam’s is the only one that provides education till the age of 26. Sam Childers is not only known for his humanitarian work but also a great motivational speaker. Sam Childers will be speaking about how people can get involved in what he's doing at Perth in Australia at “The Velvet Lounge”, 639 Beaufort St WA, Perth, Western Australia 6050. Door entry is $15 with 100% of it going towards Machine Gun Preacher's work in Africa. This Fundraiser Show would be hosted by MGP and there would be a live performance by Rob Walker (Official) who recently with the help of his support network raised $10,000 for Sam’s work. Talented Perth songstress Velveteen and Owen Hopwood would also be performing at this concert. Come and be a part of this MGP Fundraiser Perth Concert on 26th August at 6 p.m.
