PlayStation 4 launch games reviewed: The top 5 titles you'll want to get for your new console
Everything you need to get the most of your shiny new piece of kit“ Top 10 PS4 One launch titles
Already a massive seller in the States, Sony will release the PlayStation 4 in the UK on Friday, November 22th.
Here's my pick of the top 5 launch titles that will be available to buy or download on day one.
EA Sports have rebuilt their game and graphics engine from the ground up for next gen and boy does it show. Not only is this the most
beautiful virtual version of the beautiful game ever, but the additional animations and AI decisions make it the most satisfying to play
as well. If you’ve been underwhelmed by recent versions then this is the perfect antidote.
Killzone Shadow Fall
Guerilla Games’ FPS can lay claim to being the best looking game of this generation so far; everything from its hi-res backdrops to
jaw-dropping lighting effects is designed to showcase the prodigious power of the PS4. The gameplay doesn’t ever reach those
heights, but the more open levels and new tactical toys at least improve on the trusted Killzone formula.
Need for Speed: Rivals
This year’s Need For Speed reprises the franchise’s classic cops vs racers dynamic, allowing you to pick a side and tear it up round
the massively multiplayer open-world environment, pursuing other players on the fly and indulging in all manner of automotive
mayhem in front of some sumptuous scenery provided by Battlefield 4’s Frostbite 3 engine.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Ubisoft’s open world pirate romp was a corker on current gen consoles, and while almost all of the differences on Xbox One are
cosmetic, it’s fair to say that 18th century Caribbean has never looked lovelier. If you held off stepping into Edward Kenway’s shoes
in anticipation of a next gen treat then you won’t be disappointed.
Running in full, glorious 1080p, the PS4 version of Battlefield 4 is the best looking you’ll find on any console anywhere. The refined
graphics can’t do much for the single player campaign’s lumpiness, but then it’s the multiplayer that really counts here: full 32 vs 32
match-ups on massive maps marks the start of a new generation of living room warfare.
What comes in the PS4
You’ll get a PS4 system with a 500GB
hard drive, a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless
controller, a micro-USB cable for charging
the DUALSHOCK 4 controller, a Monoheadset for voice chat, a power cable ,
and an HDMI cable.
In my opinion the PS4 is a lot of fun to
play and that the FIFA 14 is the best
Proof: I have tried FIFA 14 on the PS4 at
Future Shop and it was awesome.
