  5. 5. 5 Iqra' (Recite, Read) The first thing created was the Pen, and the first word of the Revelation was iqra'. Iqra' is a command to read the signs the Creator placed in creation so that we can understand something of His Mercy, Wisdom, and Power. It is a command to learn, through experience and understanding, the meaning of His creation. Every created thing resembles a pen that records its actions. But only humanity can read what is written. That is why the Qur'an tells us to "read" instead of to "behold" We are to know the creation, not just to experience it, as is the case with all other creations. Science accumulates knowledge via observation and classification, explanation and experiment. When referring to a malaise of the spirit, the Qur'an speaks of blindness, deafness, and dumbness. " Summun bukmun umyun fahum laa yargi'oon" They are deaf, dumb and blind so they return not (to the right path) Surah al- Baqarah 2:18. The Creator's signs are first "read" with the eyes. The first sounds of Revelation are "heard" with the ears, which then channels them to the understanding. All that is seen and heard is expounded, interpreted, and communicated by the tongue, so that understanding can be deepened. "Say, It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.". Surah Al-Mulk 67:23.

  9. 9. 9 Ali want to buy a hard disk drive’ from from Tech Company. Tech Company has to trust that the cash note they are receiving is legit and not a fake. If instead Ali decides to transfer money, or use and ATM to pay Tech Company, essentially what Ali is doing is sending money in form of a digital message. This is where the importance of trusted banks come into play to facilitate these transactions. Traditionally, banks or a middleman maintain the role of ensuring that no one is cheating, or sending money they do not own, because they keep a record of how much money everyone has and deducts it accordingly. Nevertheless, financial institutions and third parties tend to charge a small fee to process all the transactions. This can become very expensive when there are millions of transactions going on around the world every minute. And this is where blockchain technology is challenging the status quo.
  10. 10. 10 WHAT IS BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY? If modern technology allows us to communicate directly via calls, messages and emails from point A to B, what if transactions could be the same? What if we could save costs and send money just like an email, and there was no need to pay for a bank or middleman to keep track of our transactions? Hence, the idea of the blockchain was born. Instead of relying on third parties to keep a record and verify our transactions, the blockchain is a community-based technology that enables the safe exchange of value. What the blockchain essentially is, is a record or ledger distributed through a peer-to-peer software technology. WHAT IS IN A BLOCKCHAIN? Like its name suggests, blockchain is a chain of blocks that contains information. Each block holds some data, the hash of the block and the hash of the previous block, whereas the data stored inside a block depends on the type of blockchain. For instance, a Bitcoin blockchain would store the details about a transaction (such as the sender, receiver and amount of coins). (Side note: A hash is akin to a fingerprint. It is unique and identifies the block and its contents. Hence, if anything inside the block is changed, it will also cause the hash to change) Each block contains a record of a change or transaction that is locked in in chronological order and secured by cryptography. Because each block contains a hash of the previous block, this effectively creates a chain of blocks and it is this technique that makes a blockchain so secure.
  11. 11. 11 KEY FEATURES OF BLOCKCHAIN It is very transparent. Once a digital identity has been created and successfully associated to an authentic identity, all their previous and future transactions can be traced back with 100% accuracy. The blockchain contains a verifiable record of every single transaction ever made. It is a record; a ledger of digital events shared among anyone. The beauty of the blockchain is that it is strength in numbers. It can only be updated by a consensus of the majority of users who deem it to be ‘true’. No middleman is necessary to verify transactions, bringing bureaucracy to the users. Once some data is entered into the blockchain, the information becomes very difficult to erase, which makes its decentralized system where its encryption cannot be altered a key value.
  12. 12. 12 BLOCKCHAIN IS NOT ONLY FOR BITCOIN The possibilities of the blockchain are endless. While its use may often be tied just to Bitcoin, the math and cryptography technology behind blockchain may be used for any transactions involving value; alternative crypto currencies, online signature services, voting systems, and many other applications in which its authenticity can be verified by the entire community. It can make it easier for foreigners to send money back to countries where access to financial institutions is limited; property deeds can be transferred with ease without the need for a third party; financial fraud will be significantly reduced as every transaction will be recorded on a public and distributed ledger which would be accessible by anyone who has an Internet connection. Blockchain can enable self-activating smart contracts, which means if a flight is delayed, passenger details are updated on a blockchain record, automatically triggering an insurance payment. Blockchain does not just allow us to create safe money online, it lets us protect any piece of digital information. From banking, investment management, insurance, and the public sector, blockchain offers a world of opportunity and a step towards the future in our global economy.
  13. 13. 13 Careers in Blockchain Will I be able to learn Blockchain technology? It’s a dilemma that most of the students, young and experienced professionals face these days. Blockchain Semantics have a a course on Introduction to Blockchain, the course is designed to help students understand the basics as well as advanced aspects of the Blockchain technology whether or not they have a technical back- ground. Key Roles • Blockchain Generalist • Smart Contract Developer • Blockchain Developer • Blockchain Expert • Blockchain Generalist
  14. 14. 14 Robotics, Automation and AI
  15. 15. 15 Robots are expected to create 15 million new jobs in the U.S. over the next 10 years, as a direct result of automation and artificial intelligence, equivalent to 10% of the workforce. However, there are only three robots per 10,000 employees in India, according to the World Robot Statistics report issued by non- profit International Federation of Robotics. Manufacturers always race to meet consumer demands and adopt the latest technology, increasing the market of robotics and automation. As these technologies continue to advance and the market continues to grow, manufacturers can utilize robotics and automation to improve their operations. The larger focus is driven towards the industrial robotics as the demand is high in this sector. Robotics is been utilized in the fulfillment centers and industrial system for a long time. But now, developers are looking for its applications in a system outside the industrial environment in various domains. The technology is referred to as a fast evolving and solution-focused industry, in which the system is a blend of various software, hardware, and advanced machine learning.
  16. 16. 16 Robot can create in-store maps of your products, detect pricing discrepancies, out- of-stocks, misplaced items and notify your employees to resolve them in minutes. Robotics for Retail:
  17. 17. 17 Example: A fully integrated automated kitchen, designed for regular homes and able to cook with the skill and flair of a human chef. Its articulated robotics hands reproduce the entire function of human hands with the same speed, sensitivity and movement. Robotics for Smart Home: Example: Robots can detect intruders or security anomalies while interacting with and around people at the office. Their sensors record where it was and what it saw and, at the same time, it can be remotely controlled by humans to provide assistance in emergencies. Robotics for Security Services:
  18. 18. 18 Careers in Robotics Robotics will continue to grow and increase in job prospects. If you’re even remotely interested in this science, now is the time to get the training to enter this field. Robotics Engineer : An engineer has the responsibility for developing the robot. Then, as it’s being built, he will oversee practically every aspect of the development of the robot, from safety to testing to analyzing and reviewing every movement. An engineer will also need to debug any problem within the software system. Software Developer: Each robot needs to have a computerized internal system that is highly efficient in operating the machine. This schematic design is written and coded by the software developer along with the engineer to assure the robot performs the functions it’s designed to carry out in a safe and precise way. Technician : A robotics technician can repair and maintain robots and build some robotic parts along with other tasks. An electromechanical technician works with the engineer in the design process of new robots. Sales Engineer : Sales engineers must know the products inside and out, as they will be attempting to sell advanced technological robots and their designs to potential customers. They must also be able to consult with the buyer and make any changes in the design to satisfy their needs. Operators : Of course every robot has to have someone operating and overseeing it 24 hours a day. In case anything should go wrong or break down, someone would need to be on top of the situation immediately. That’s where an operator comes in. Working in shifts around the clock, they ensure everything goes smoothly. They are also needed to operate and repair such equipment as flying drones, undersea robots and robots designed for military activities. Robotics Account Manager: Yes, there are even jobs within the robotics field that include accounting. For this, an individual would need a strong background in robot technology, sales, accounting, and customer service. He or she would need to be outgoing yet independent, and have a strong personality to connect with and make sales to customers within the robotics industry.

  25. 25. 25 Cyber security is the protection of internet-connected systems, including hardware, software and data, from cyber attacks. In a computing context, security comprises cyber security and physical security -- both are used by enterprises to protect against unauthorized access to data centers and other computerized systems. Information security, which is designed to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, is a subset of cyber security. Elements of cyber security Ensuring cyber security requires the coordination of efforts throughout an information system, which includes: • Application security • Information security • Network security • Disaster recovery/business continuity planning • Operational security • End-user education
  26. 26. 26 Careers in cyber security As the cyber threat landscape continues to grow and emerging threats, such as the internet of things, require hardware and software skills, it is estimated that there are 1 million unfilled cyber security jobs worldwide. IT professionals and other computer specialists are needed in security jobs, such as: Chief information security officer (CISO): this individual implements the security program across the organization and oversees the IT security department's operations; Security engineer: this individual protects company assets from threats with a focus on quality control within the IT infrastructure; Security architect: this individual is responsible for planning, analyzing, designing, testing, maintaining and supporting an enterprise's critical infrastructure; and Security analyst: this individual has several responsibilities that include planning security measures and controls, protecting digital files, and conducting both internal and external security audits.
  27. 27. 27 CAD Software CAD software is an important tool for professional architects, engineers, animators, and graphic designers.
  28. 28. 28 As a designer, drafter, architect, or engineer, you can use 2D or 3D CAD programs such as • AutoCAD • Creo parametric (Pro Engineer) • NX (UG or Unigraphics) • Solid Edge • Sketch Up These widely used software programs can help you draft construction documentation, explore design ideas, visualize concepts through photorealistic renderings, and simulate how a design performs in the real world.
  29. 29. 29 Modeling is the process of taking a shape and molding it into a completed 3D mesh. The most typical means of creating a 3D model is to take a simple object, called a primitive, and extend or "grow" it into a shape that can be refined and detailed. Primitives can be anything from a single point (called a vertex), a two-dimensional line (an edge), a curve (a spline), to three dimensional objects (faces or polygons). Using the specific features of your chosen 3D software, each one of these primitives can be manipulated to produce an object. When you create a model in 3D, you'll usually learn one method to create your model, and go back to it time and again when you need to create new models. There are three basic methods you can use to create a 3D model, and 3D artists should understand how to create a model using each technique. Modelling Drawing or rending is that on which facial features appear in such a way that the viewer knows that it is the image of an animate being is prohibited in Islam.

  31. 31. 31 One of the most disruptive innovations of the last few years is without a doubt 3D printing. 3D printing is any of various processes in which material is joined or solidified under computer control to create a three-dimensional object, with material being added together. 3D printable models may be created with a computer-aided design (CAD) package, via a 3D scanner, or by a plain digital camera and photogrammetry software. 3D printed models created with CAD result in reduced errors and can be corrected before printing, allowing verification in the design of the object before it is printed. PRINTING Who uses? • Aerospace • Architecture • Automotive • Defense • Medical replacements • Manufacturing AND MANY MORE
  32. 32. 32 3D printing is democratizing manufacturing and is a transformative technology. It is entering every sector of our economy.
  33. 33. 33 PRINTING Get ready for 3D printing, also known as “Additive Manufacturing”, turns digital blueprints to physical objects by building them layer by layer. 4D printing is based on this technology. With one big difference: It uses special materials and sophisticated designs that are “programmed” to prompt your 3D print to change its shape. So, basically, 4D printing is a renovation of 3D printing wherein special materials to print objects that change shape post-production. A trigger may be water, heat, wind and other forms of energy.

  86. 86. 86 What we Really Need to Start A Business? A great team knows that they are accountable to each other and that, together, they can accomplish great things. Honest, thoughtful, and well-intentioned business process will give you fruitful results. • Sufficient Capital and Cash flow • How meaningful is your product / service? • Knowledge to deal with clients • You should know what you are doing • Advertisement • Social and Professional Network Many people have million-dollar ideas. They’re confident that their new product or service or innovation will make them rich and that all their dreams will come true. The problem is: Most people don’t know how to turn their million-dollar idea into millions of dollars. The most important thing in life is a person’s social and professional network. In other words, the people around us―our associates, our team, our friends. The people we surround ourselves with―and the people we go to for advice and guidance―can mean the difference between success and failure.
  87. 87. 87 Your company provides a service to your customers, and those customers communicate their experience to the world through an online medium, often online reviews. These reviews contribute to the digital portfolio of every business. Today it's apparent that local businesses need reviews. Aside from building customer trust and helping with SEO, Google’s markup of a company or product in search can now include reviews and ratings. Online customer reviews are no joke, rather they are essential for the reputation of businesses..
  88. 88. 88 When it comes to e-commerce, the hardest thing to do is get customers to trust you • When you get a negative online review your goal should be to resolve the issue ASAP. •Don’t take it personal, seek to understand, be timely and responsive, resolve the complaint, correct internally. Online reviews play a huge role in getting customers to research a product or service, and research is the first step toward a buying decision.
  89. 89. 89 It is haraam to deal with multilevel marketing schemes (or “pyramid schemes”) that charge a fee for joining or stipulate that one must buy a certain product in order to be able to engage in marketing and take commission, because that involves ambiguity and gambling, and because in this case the item or product is not what is sought; rather the aim is to join the marketing scheme in hopes of getting a lot of commission. The reason why it is gambling is that the participant pays a joining fee or pays the price of the product in the hope of being able to attract customers and get commission, which may or may not happen, hence this is gambling. It involves riba of two types, riba al-fadl (involving exchange of goods of the same type but of different quantity) and riba al-nasi’ah (involving deferred payment of a larger amount than would be paid if it were paid immediately). Standing Committee for Academic Research and Issuing Fatwas. Fatwa no. 22935 MULTI LEVEL MARKETING / NETWORK MARKETING OR PYRAMID MARKETING
  90. 90. 90 Ibn Mas'ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah ‫ﷺ‬ said: "The feet of the son of Adam shall not move from before his Lord on the Day of Judgment, until he is asked about five things: about his life and what he did with it, about his youth and what he wore it out in, about his wealth and how he earned it and spent it upon, and what he did with what he knew.“ Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 37, Hadith 2601 THE PATH TO SUCCESS
  91. 91. 91
  92. 92. 92 PUT AN END TO RIBA (INTEREST) Riba was prohibited just to prevent the creation of "extra liability/demand" because that is fake and "does not exist" physically, this artificial "extra liability/demand" creates scarcity of the produce in the society and unjustly accumulation of the produce in few hands. Riba (interest, usury) is a mechanism and dangerous weapon that has a power to get hold of assets/properties of individuals, enterprises, and nations deceitfully. Nature is the Limit in Islam; any thing not natural is prohibited, stopped, and declared illegal. Today riba gives banks and the rich an incentive to lend money without fear of loss. O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. (2:278) And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah. But what you give in zakah, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers. (30:39) Abdallah ibn Hanzalah said that the prophet ( ‫ﷺ‬), said: "A dirham of riba which a man receives knowingly is worse than committing adultery thirty-six times" (Ahmad and Daraqutni) Abu Hurayrah said that the prophet ( ‫ﷺ‬), said: "Riba has seventy segments, the least serious being equivalent to a man committing adultery with his own mother." (Ibn Majah)
  93. 93. 93 “Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest.” (Qur’an, 2:275) www.inceif.org • www.islamiconlineuniversity.com/stream/bec Islamic banking has expanded to become a distinctive and fast growing segment of the international banking and capital markets. There are well over 200 Islamic banks operating in over 70 countries comprising most of the Muslim world and many Western countries.
  94. 94. 94 Rejection of interest by Islam poses the question of what replaces the interest rate mechanism in an Islamic framework. If the paying and receiving of interest is prohibited, how do Islamic banks operate? Here PLS comes in, substituting profit-and-loss-sharing for interest as a method of resource allocation. Although a large number of different contracts feature in Islamic financing, certain types of transaction are central: trustee finance (mudaraba), equity participation (musharaka) and ‘mark-up’ methods. Some of these profit-sharing arrangements such as mudaraba and musharaka almost certainly pre-date the genesis of Islam. Business partnerships based on what was in essence the mudaraba concept coexisted in the pre-Islamic Middle East along with interest loans as a means of financing economic activities.
