Shoot supervisor / Assistant Technical Director
Recent projects - Bahubali.
On production - Bahubali 2, Endhiran 2, Kashmora, In house Virtual Reality project.
In the past 3 years I have been developing my experience with various responsibilities on several
different projects along with client handling responsibilities. My roles and responsibilities are shared
across multiple projects delivered through collaborative works with the team.
All my dream is to become an Oscar winning VFX Supervisor and cherish it, no matter what and how
tough the path is going to be. Now I'm in the journey of it, exploring the opportunities.
My Studies in MS Digital Visual Effects at Kent University, U.K. also induced my sense on judging the do’s
and don’t in set righting the lacuna in VFX techniques used which has impressed the others in
appreciating my potential to become a great art visualizer. Hence, I have chosen compositing as my
core skill set.
I began my career as Roto artist and constant effort in learning tools and techniques helped me to grow
faster. As an individual I have put under various challenges and R&D’s that got best out of me. I moved
as a supervisor in span of 5 months since I joined. Huge task of 75 minutes of Deage footage being
delivered in 3 months time under my supervision, being able to lead team and fix pipeline issues gave an
huge confident, vibrant around and belief.
As a representative of the studio, interactions with Director and Director Of Photography gave me
confidence on client relationship. This was the trigger point in my career. My responsibility includes
Previz supervision on Bahubali 2, CG supervision on Bahubali 2, Shoot supervision on Kashmora and
Technical Director on Endiran 2. Bahubali 2 and Endiran 2 are India’s big budget movies. There is no
stopping me now. I'm now looking forward on supervision and Assistant supervision under different roles.
I have open arms for responsibilities and challenges to give a warm hug.
I have an exceptional ability to quickly understand and work on new software tools and technology while
having a collaborative, articulate, and supportive working style. I’m a very proactive, self-motivated,
team player, manager and planner that is able to keep calm under pressure while efficiently working
with deadlines. I believe being an all rounder is my strength. Open to accept challenges on any roles and
responsibilities. I have proven my skills time to time that pushes me go faster.
Few Research and Developments so far :
Introducing and Implementing new tools and scripts into the pipeline and achieving the best results in
To remove blemishes, wrinkles, eye bag ,scars, double chin and bulgy nose.
Approach: Traditional paint , Projection is the obvious method comes in mind. I have approached with a
3rd party plugin for compositing. All i figured is to define roto area and so Blemishes, wrinkles, eye bag ,
scars can be removed in no time in compositing.
Achievement: The process for each roto is repetitive , hence designed a Gizmos that would give a setup
for the immediate usage with approximate value that works. We went on to fix Double chin using
traditional paint , on complicated sequence we projected footage over a mesh and render sequence
image and paint over to re project.
In-depth knowledge on VFX tools helps me find workarounds.
Directx 11 / surface shader for Previsualization in MAYA
With the updates on DX11, i was interested to learn through online forums. The result that we could
generate at real time surprised me to implement on Pre-visuals that I handled. The output has been
applauded by VFX supervisor and so as the client. I presented couple of sessions about the pipeline and
process to the previs team and now it’s been followed , standing as a benchmark.
Getting the taste of beta’s and alpha’s guides in upcoming projects implementations
Stingray , I can not stop my hands as an individual to try on Autodesk Stingray when it launched
I haven’t produced any stunning results so far but i was learning my first game engine and executed
Virtual reality in it.
Talk about Virtual Reality, Exploring unlimited possibilities
Virtual Reality , one of the most booming area in the world. I have tested VR in both passive
and active VR. Interestingly I used Camera to render take 360 images of the location and stitched ,
converted as Long Lat map. Created meshes with the same images and cleaned up for the use. The
measurement of the physical camera placement is noted and been used to render the longlat map in
virtual camera to check for the alignments. Currently I’m working on in house VR project that includes
Museum for the studio and Stunning immersive VR experience with the Asset developed in studio so far.
