  4. 4. About 132/33 KV substation A substation is a part of an electrical transmission and distribution system. Substation transforms voltage from high to low, or the reverse, or performs any of several other important functions. To design a 132 KV / 33 KV EHV sub a station where the incoming power is received at 132 KV from a generating station. In this substation, the power is coming from the 220 KV GSS bagru (RICCO industrial area).
  5. 5. Introduction of Power Distribution plant A power plant is an industrial facility that generates electricity from primary energy. Most power plants use one or more generators that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy in order to supply power to the electrical grid for society's electrical needs.
  6. 6. Single line diagram Definition: Single line diagram is the representation of a power system using a simple symbol for each component. The single-line diagram of a power system is the network that shows the main connections and arrangement of the system components along with their data (such as output rating, voltage, resistance, reactance, etc.).
  7. 7. Power transformer A transformer is a passive electrical device that transfers electrical energy from one electrical circuit to another, or multiple circuits. A transformer consist of two electrically isolated coils and operates on Faraday’s principal of “mutual induction”, in which an EMF is induced in the transformers secondary coil by the magnetic flux generated by the voltages and current flowing in the primary coil winding.

  10. 10. Measuring instrument This transformer test instrument has a true three-phase reference standard. Additionally, this PT/CT analyzer has optional three-phase current and voltage sources for ANSI C12 phantom load meter testing. You also have the option to add an MTA-15Z accessory to facilitate ANSI C12 meter testing on self-contained meters at the customer’s site or in the lab. This device is allowed to use for type tests, production testing, maintenance testing, and repair.   11. 11. Circuit breaker VCB is used for medium- voltage ratings (like 11KV and 33KV). It is widely used for the substation for overload or high current protection. And it is used for transformer switching, reactor switching, capacitor bank switching, etc
  12. 12. Isolator An isolation transformer is a transformer used to transfer electrical power from a source of alternating current (AC) power to some equipment or device while isolating the powered device from the power source, usually for safety reasons or to reduce transients and harmonics.
  13. 13. Bus coupler A bus coupler is a device that is used to couple one bus to the other without any interruption in power supply and without creating hazardous arcs. A bus coupler is a breaker used to couple two busbars to perform maintenance on other circuit breakers associated with that busbar
  14. 14. Bus coupler A relay is an electrically operated switch. It consists of a set of input terminals for single or multiple control signals, and a set of operating contact terminals. The switch may have any number of contacts in multiple contact forms, such as make contacts, break contacts or combinations thereof.

WAVE TRAP A line trap, also known as wave trap, or high-frequency stopper, is a maintenance- free parallel resonant circuit, mounted inline on high- voltage (HV) AC transmission power lines to prevent the transmission of high frequency (40 kHz to 1000 kHz) carrier signals of power line communication to unwanted destinations.
  16. 16. BATTERY BANK ROOM A battery room is a room that houses batteries for backup or uninterruptible power systems. The rooms are found in telecommunication central offices and provide standby power for computing equipment in data centers.

  18. 18. CONCLUSION Electricity plays an important role in our life. At the end of the training, I come to know about the various parts of substations and how they are operated. Also, I learned about how transmission is done in various parts of Jaipur ( Rajasthan ). As evident from the ppt, a substation plays a very important role in the transmission system. That’s why various protective measures are taken to protect the substations from various faults and their smooth functioning. The power transmission corporation of Rajasthan limited takes such steps so that a uniform and stable supply of electricity can reach every part of this state.
