  2. 2. When your personal computer finally breaks down for good, you cannot blame it for not warning you earlier. The signs are always there, but we ignore them, or hope that they will come to pass. Here are the things that tell you that it is time to get a new PC:
  3. 3. Operation System Installation: If you cannot install a new operating system then it is probably time to dump your PC. Previously people were not so caught up in the whole idea of retaining their valuable operating systems. This was because of the regular updates. They could simply find new software upgrades every three years. These days software is a hot potato, and if you do not have the right package, you will not be able to operate properly. That is why any computer that is not compatible with the latest packages, is ripe for putting away. If you don’t, then you could become a magnet for all sorts of bugs and viruses due to a lack of protection.
  4. 4. Games and Apps: If it is becoming difficult to access and use new software apps and games then you should definitely consider ditching your computer. PCs are not only for work purposes, but they also provide entertainment. Therefore, if you are being locked out of the games then it is time to find a computer that is able to serve your needs better. The specifications of older computers become painfully inadequate to the extent that you no longer feel that it is worth keeping the hardware in the first place.
  5. 5. Speed and Efficiency: When your computer becomes too slow for you to do even the most basic tasks, then it is time to move on to another one. These slow episodes tend to creep up on your tolerance with gentle, but determined persistence. Eventually, you realize that you are spending more time waiting for the transactions to complete, than actually doing the work that you are supposed to be doing. That is a sure sign that your PC is no longer fit for purpose.
  6. 6. Space and Memory: Sometimes, deleting files or putting them on a floppy disk is not the answer. There is always a risk of getting lost during the transmission. That is why some people opt to get a new PC and leave the old one intact, particularly if the information it contains is very sensitive to the person, or the organization they are working for. When your PC is ready to go, you will begin to notice that you are running out of CPU (Central Processing Unit) capacity and the usage is usually at about 80%. Always keep an eye out for your RAM (Random Access Memory).
  7. 7. Unexpected Noise: Computers normally make some noise during operation. However, if you notice that the noise levels are way beyond what you would normally expect, then it is probably a good idea to start looking for a new PC. These computers that are ready to go, will make an enormous racket the moment you switch them on. The clicking and grinding is not conducive to work. That is why finding a replacement is recommended in these circumstances.
