  1. 1. Pre-school education aims to provide children with a solid foundation of socialization prior to formal education. National preschool curriculum (KPK) allows children aged 5 years and over gain a solid foundation in communication, social and other skills in preparation for primary school. This is consistent with the intent of the National Education philosophy to provide a basis for the development and growth of domains of cognitive, affective and psychomotor. To increase access to preschool education to all children regardless of race and religion, especially in rural areas, the Ministry of Education has expanded its preschool program to the national school Chinese and Tamil in stages with additional classrooms and teachers trained to teach in these classes, other provide preschool classes for children with special needs of hearing and sight. In an effort to improve the quality of preschool education, MOE has prepared guidelines that allow flexibility in teaching and learning approaches and use of language. The Ministry has also formulated the National Preschool Curriculum in 2003. With this curriculum, whether pre-school classes organized by the Ministry of Education, government agencies, such as jewelry, Department of National Unity and classes organized by the private sector is encouraged to use the curriculum. In addition to the National Curriculum, the Ministry also provides books Preschool Education syllabus for preschool teachers. National Preschool Curriculum Guidelines emphasize the nine areas of experience that forms the basis of child development, education included the constitution, Islamic Studies, Moral and Spiritual Education, Malay, English and physical development of pupils. At this stage, teachers use a variety of approaches, especially to play and learn as well as an integrated and thematic approach. Overall, the focus of pre-school education covers the process of socialization, the development of character and preparation for primary school. Through the National Preschool Curriculum, student progress will be achieved through six components of the implementation of integrated learning.
