Population UCM Academic & Research Staff 6.179 (100%) 3.222 men (52,14%) 2.957 women (47,86%) Date June 18 - July 8 Type of Survey and distribution Online Questionnaire, distributed by email. Sent by each Dean Office to Staff Emails(26 Faculties) and promoted at each faculty by the Gender Focal point of the SUPERA project Responses 1.531 responses (24.78%) Difference between population and responses Slightly lower participation from men. Specially Full Professors, Associate professors and Professional professors. Women have a slightly over representation of categories: Titular and Assistant

Survey on Working academic conditions, academic time usage perception and academic performance during the Covid-19 lock-down This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 787829. ❏ Differences in time devoted to care and domestic work have been aggravated during lockdown ❏ In general, due to the crisis and lockdown women have had a worse time than their male colleagues (sadness, preoccupation, anxiety and stress, feeling overwhelmed and of losing control) ❏ Academic time usage perception: Before lockdown female claimed to devote less weekly time (32,2) than men (31,9) to academic work, but during lockdown figures reverse Women (38,6) vs Men (37,2) ❏ Gender roles in academic work are confirmed and aggravated during lockdown. (Women spend more time preparing classes and attending to students, and men writing and publishing papers and articles) Preliminary conclusions

Survey on Working academic conditions, academic time usage perception and academic performance during the Covid-19 lock-down This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 787829. ❏ Male Faculty say they are more satisfied with their academic performance. ❏ I feel quite satisfied (34.5% of men -- 28.4% of women) ❏ Women say it has affected their academic performance the most: ❏ the attention to their family, ❏ the number of hours of housework and care, ❏ their emotional state, ❏ catching up on online tools ❏ the accumulation of tasks and the difficulty to attend them ❏ Gender differences on the Scientific Production, before the crisis men have published significantly more books, chapters, articles, patents, and artistic and musical works. During confinement they have also worked more on books, chapters and articles. ❏ Women have felt significantly less supported by close people and colleagues Preliminary conclusions
