Presented during the 17h Annual Sahelo-Saharan Interest Group Meeting organized by the NGO Sahara Conservation Fund in Senegal, from 4 to 6 May 2017. The Sahara Conservation Fund (SCF) gathers every year about a hundred people who are interested in the field of Sahelo-Saharan species conservation.

LES AMIS D´ELAND DE DERBY (AMED) -FOUNDED IN 2017 • d´agir en vue d’assurer la préservation, la promotion et le développement de l’espèce animale éland de derby (Taurotragus derbianus derbianus) classée parmi les espèces en voie de disparition ; • de s’investir de manière concertée et inclusive autour de l’idéal et des objectifs de l’association ; • d’initier, d’accompagner toute mesure et action utiles à la mise en place et au renforcement de programmes institutionnels et organisationnels liés directement ou indirectement à l’éland de derby et à son environnement.
