SAP® Financial Solutions Success Story @ YASHStreamline Financial Processes and Improve Profitability Boston Medical Center Data Archiving Reduced Payroll Processing Time from 1-2 Days to a Few Hours With 4581 employees and more than 840,000 patient visits in 2009, Boston Medical Center’s total database size in the production environment was fast growing. The company’s current SAP system was not efficient for reporting, queries and searches and they sought a comprehensive data archiving process that would increase performance by reducing the amount of live data. BMC’s objective was to reduce the overall size of the database by 30% in the areas of Human Resources (HR), Finance and Accounting. YASH Technologies was selected as the strategic partner to define and implement a standard archiving process along with documented procedures for data archiving, recovery, and destruction. After a detailed system assessment, a phased archiving strategy was designed, and covered the archiving objects, business data elements, retention periods and retrieval plans. YASH provided additional custom enhancements with complete documentation for functional reports using archived and non-archived payroll and HR data to meet BMC’s unique business requirements. This resulted in a 98% reduction of database size. BMC’s successful data archiving initiative reduced backup costs by 40%, and improved productivity and collaboration with instant data and document access. Most importantly, BMC realized a reduction in payroll processing time from 1-2 days to a few hours.

Aarti IndustriesChemical Company Achieved Operational Excellence with Robust ERP SolutionAarti experienced rapid growth via global expansion with annual revenues doubling to reach$400 million. Aarti was utilizing Tally, a legacy application used by small enterprises in India,for their financial reporting needs. However, the financial management capabilities of Tallycould not keep pace with the high volume of business and became increasingly difficultto use. Without a cohesive system in place to provide visibility of operations across theenterprise, Aarti’s customers began to feel the effects. In order to sustain their growth rateand scale operations, Aarti sought to implement an ERP system. Core ERP modules of FI,CO, SD, and MM were implemented by YASH Technologies at Aarti’s headquarters in Mumbai,and at six manufacturing plants of its subsidiary company, Anushakti Chemicals and Drug.Dealing with very complex production operations, YASH integrated over 16,000 material,4000 vendor, 2400 customer, and 500 asset class data to achieve an enterprise-wide ERPsolution. Integrated processes tightened the billing cycle, resulting in a 50% decrease inmonth-end closing cycle time. Customer service issues were significantly decreased, and thenew functionality delivered the ability to accurately track and maintain inventory levels.Sterlite IndustriesFour Month Global Implementation Transforms HR into a Strategic Service CenterSterlite Industries, India’s largest non-ferrous metals and mining company, was operating inmultiple locations with disparate, non-integrated IT systems. Human resources tasks becametime-consuming and labor intensive and Sterlite needed a solution that could be leveragedas a competitive tool for future growth objectives. YASH implemented four modules of SAPHuman Capital Management: Workforce Process Management, Talent Management, WorkforceAnalytics, and Self-Service Applications, in only four months that consolidated company datain one central location. YASH customized the HR portal solution to seamlessly integraterecruitment management and workforce analytics throughout the entire enterprise. SAPTravel Management was implemented to reduce the processing time for submitting travelrequests, approvals, and expense settlements. YASH configured eligibility rules for allemployees in the system based upon their corresponding grade levels and designed customcompany reports that increased transparency of the travel and expense data. To furtheroptimize user adoption, there was heavy emphasis on company training via system demos,training of 45 “SAP HCM Champions” to assist other employees, and weekly email tips. Theincreased efficiency made HR a strategic business partner by aligning their activities withorganizational objectives, realizing a high return on investment.Slade Gorton & Co.Integration with SAP Best Practices Simplified and Accelerated Financial Reporting ProcessesSlade Gorton is a leading US wholesaler of seafood products and efficiency is one of itskey working principles. The company’s vision was to organize its business processes as ashared service, so that all units, including sales, could function as a single entity, despitenumerous locations. It also wanted to introduce best practices company-wide. Slade Gortonselected SAP ERP ECC 6.0 Financials as the solution to support that vision. YASH rolled out thesolution in six sales offices and two warehouse locations on a single instance. Business usersbegan to benefit almost immediately from robust functionality and integrated technology.They were also able to benefit from online ad hoc analysis and reporting functionality andtools to leverage internal and external information. An integrated data model of financialand non-financial information was put in place, enabling consistent data across all businessunits. Using SAP ERP Financials, they have managed to streamline finance and order-to-cashoperations, reducing costs and cycle times. Broad InstituteLeading Medical Research Organization Utilized SAP for Operational Independence andEfficiency as They Separated from Parent CompanyThe Broad Institute used the internal SAP system of its parent company, MIT, to runoperations. In 2008, Broad became a separate entity and managed its own IT applications andinfrastructure. One key initiative was the integration of Grants and Funds Management fromthe COEUS database to the new ERP system. With successful prior experience at MIT, YASHleveraged that knowledge to ensure a successful deployment. Coupled with YASH’s proprietary“S-Imple” delivery methodology, YASH significantly streamlined the implementation andreduced costs for the client. It enabled better decision-making by providing enterprise-widevisibility into processes across organizational boundaries and by delivering instant access toinformation in a secure environment.Shakti Met-Dor LimitedLeading Indian Door Manufacturer Optimized Workflows with SAP ERP SolutionAn increasing customer base and product offering developed inefficiencies within ShaktiMet-Dor Limited (SML). Their existing system was not able to properly support employeesor company objectives. The daily business activities were processed manually and storedin separate Excel files by the sales, production, and procurement departments. With sevendisparate satellite offices throughout the country, SML wanted an automated and integratedworkflow solution to scale with the company as it grew. YASH implemented SAP ERP Financialsto ensure compliance and predictability of business performance, so SML could gain deeperfinancial insight across the enterprise and tighten control of finances. It also automatedaccounting processes and financial supply chain management. HCM was deployed to optimizeHR processes and maximize the potential of employees, while supporting innovation, growthand flexibility. Theunified database reduced the time to convert inquiries to sales orders by 100%, and improvedoverall financial management. Au Bon Pain Global Restaurant Chain Enhances Value of Property Portfolio with SAP ERP Au Bon Pain’s operations are divided into two categories: corporate and franchise, each with their own business processes and real estate management needs. They plan to take advantage of an exploding market segment and accelerate franchise development in both domestic and international territories. The franchise, real estate, and finance departments used several different and disparate legacy systems that involved a variety of manual processes, which created costly inefficiencies in their lease management activities. YASH Technologies was selected to deliver an SAP ERP and SAP Real Estate Management solution that would provide an end-to-end solution for facilities management and improve data visibility across the enterprise. The real estate functionality provided seamless integration with ERP—helping to streamline processes and offering powerful support for every stage of the real estate portfolio life cycle. In particular, YASH implemented the functionalities to enable Master Data Management, Business Partner Management, Contract Management, and Reporting and Correspondence. The client was able to reduce transaction costs and manual FASB13 calculations, and receive accurate visibility into what they owned and leased, where it was located, how it was being used, and what the associated costs were.
