  • Smooth integration of infrastructure management into Application Lifecycle Management Expand SAP Solution Manager usage to proactive infrastructure monitoring and alerting One common platform to discover and manage heterogeneous technical infrastructures Foundation for running IT like a business Enable the full asset lifecycle from order to phase out Use ITIL-compliant SAP Solution Manager processes with full access to CMDB Optimize the usage of IT resources with optional integration into project and portfolio management Scalable extension for SAP Enterprise Support customers
  • Solution Manager now offers greater reach and capabilities that can enhance the usage of the tool in customer environments. Release 7.0 marks an important milestone in this evolution and Release 7.1 now brings a whole set of re-worked functions and additional functions along, that allow the product to incorporate the scope of non SAP environments. Together with SAP IT Infrastructure Management, the Solution Manger now has the power to manage entire scenarios in the lifecycle of applications and components. The benefit for customers is that they can harvest the potential of this solution and reduce time and costs for an IT management solution for the sap and the non SAP world
  • IT Infrastructure Management offers a seamless integration of data about the infrastructure in the solution Manager. One location where you can find all relevant infomration about the IT landscape It offers best transparency of the infrastructure to manage the changes and the descisions about improving or aligning the IT with the business processes. Because the objects of the infrastrucutre are part of the change processes you can reduce the coordination efforts and save money for IT operations and support. The business is supported and critical IT issues are quickly identified in the root cause, so that no money is lost through IT failures
  • Solution Manager can support all layers of the IT architecture Top to bottom: Business process design Applications, databases, interfaces, Users, etc Infrastructure with all hardware components. This shows that customers can now rely on a one stop solution that will cover the entire stack with the right tools to do dedicated management throughout the lifecycle in each of the stacks.
  • SAP IT Infrastructure Management consist of Networks and systems management including device monitoring device management change management and provisioning Auto discovery of devices and assets CMDB Inventory of configuration items Infrastructure Documentation (live including health status) Relations of the configuration Items topology and dependencies between the items Integration in to Solution Manger with all the data that can be accessed form the infrastructure available inside the Solution Manger All processes like Service Management, Change management, technical monitoring are enhanced by the data from the CMDB. This give the customer a seamless and easy-to-configure solution that extends Solution Manager into the infrastructure of the customer including the client PCs and Servers and the Network. It enables full management of the lifecycle for these assets too.
  • Real-time Access to all your Device Types . Product Specific Module for all common Device Models - Consistent look & feel and intuitive handling via graphical display - Support of all standard and proprietary Management Information Bases - Support of the most important management protocols (SNMP, CIM, WMI/WBEM) - Development of new Product Specific Modules at a standard rate Easier Network Management and Planning - Topology Overview - Visual Assisted Analysis - Overview of distributed Networks - System Network Status Manage your Network Configuration with Provisioning - Distribute changes to all your active network devices - Collect configuration of all your active network devices - Compare configuration history with current configuration
  • The vision of the future is that the solution manager will provide all necessary KPI and data to support more transparency in aligning the costs for IT with the Business requirements and the benefits for the company. This way, it becomes easier to optimize the costs and the operation processes in IT You can call this „Run your IT like a business“ or „enterprise Resource planning for IT“ or „financial and operational IT management“ … all coming through solutions from SAP!
  • Take away‘s for this presentation: Now for the first time, you have full visibility to all assets, their status and their dependencies inside the Landscape of your IT with the help of Solution Manager and SAP IT Infrastrucutre Management. Easy to roll out and easy to configure also means that the time to operation is very small even if the landscapes are heterogeneous and complex The infrastructure is discovered automatically so that no manual data entry or data integration is required Allows you to use the full power of the Solution Manager for both the SAP world and the non SAP world. The fact that a CMDB is part of this solution means that ITIL processes are even better supported With the better transparency and the one stop solution, you reduce your effort and you eliminate the problem of media breaks in your root cause analysis and identification of business critical IT errors.
