I live in Decatur, Georgia, and work as a strategic
account manager at Sinch. Sinch is a Swedish
company that provides cloud communication
solutions, especially SMS transactions for
multinational companies.

What do you do today?

What is your role at Sinch?
I am the right-hand of the account director. My day-
to-day work is analyzing pricing for customers and
getting the best rates possible across the globe. I
stay up-to-date with reading regulations in, for
example, Vietnam, Kazakhstan Kuwait. I have to read
their local regulations and make sure that my clients
have the most up-to-date information when they're
sending text messages.

What is your best memory when you
were an intern at SACC GA?
Work-wise it would be all the events, meeting all the
people and getting to know all members. I still meet a
couple of members from SACC GA since I moved
back here.
The best memory overall is meeting my wife.

Why did you apply for an internship at
SACC GA?
That's a funny story - I was on a road trip with an RV
from Miami to San Francisco in college. Everywhere we
stopped, people were the friendliest people I've ever
met, and people were really interested in what we were
doing. After the road trip, I decided to start looking for
job opportunities in the US.

What advice would you give to those
interested in the internship at SACC GA?
Take in as much as you can.
Try to get to know the members as much as
possible.
The traineeship is a learning opportunity.
Challenge yourself a little bit when it comes to
learning new software.
I was learning Excel to the point where I got a job
as an accountant when I was moving back home
to Sweden, and people were amazed about my
skills.

Sinch handles SMS transactions between application and
person, (A2P - Application to Person). For example, if you
log into an app, and the app wants to make sure that it is
actually you that is logging in (called two-factor
authentication), you can get an SMS to your phone to
confirm that you have access to your phone as well as the
password on your computer. In that way, you have two
ways to confirm that you are logging in.
