  2. 2. Air quality <ul><li>We have decided to make a renewable energy running from the exhaust fumes of the commercial planes. How they will work is there will be turbine connected to the back of the planes engine. The power created by the turbines will power the inside of plane like the air-conditioning, lighting. There would be wind turbines near by will power the terminals energy supply </li></ul>
  3. 3. Water management <ul><li>A hydroelectric plant will be installed in each terminal. The waste water will run through turbines power a water management plant. After the water passes through the plant it will go through another set of turbines powering the terminals. A portion of the water will go to a cleansing plant and then go back into the bathrooms but not the sink. The rest of the water will go into the fountains or go to other places. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Waste Management <ul><li>We will include a large underground bunker that will take in all the recyclable materials that are capable of decomposing. This bunker will be far underground so there will be no smell. This bunker will be cleaned every few years or when it gets filled. After the waste has been removed and decomposed it will be sold for compost. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Energy Efficiency <ul><li>This airport will run on solar power and wind power, also hydroelectric power but if this all fails it has a set of backup generators. These backup generators will only be run when the other supplies of energy can not create enough power. If there is no wind we could use solar power because no matter what both ideas would work and both of the ideas would be friendly towards global warming and the pollution of our country. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Setting of the Airport <ul><li>ROOF: Use something cheap such as Blue Steel Company steel for roofs. Cover the roof with grass for good insulation just like parliament house. This will work out cheap, environmentally friendly and good insulation . </li></ul><ul><li>WATER: Use Recycled water and a portion is cleansed and goes back into the bathrooms & swimming pool. The rest will go into fountains and garden watering system. The water will all go through a system to be recycled and the system will be cleaned out every year. The compost and waste cleaned out, will be sold for more money. </li></ul>

Setting of the Airport <ul><li>SHOPS: There will be many shops inside and outside of the airport: selling food, umbrella's, clothes, magazines, crossword puzzles and other puzzles, travel items, normal shops that will rent space in the airport. </li></ul><ul><li>WALLS: Some glass windows near the terminals (covering the whole wall) to look modern. The rest of the walls can be made with steel bars for reinforcement, bricks on the outside and plaster on the inside. </li></ul>

Setting of the Airport <ul><li>OVERALL DESIGN: domestic terminal international terminal runways hangers car park taxi bay recreational areas for waiting time: pool, skate park, etc. bus bay </li></ul><ul><li>FLOORS: carpet in the terminal with a concrete base tiles in entrance lino / linoleum for rest of floor in nice colour </li></ul>
  9. 9. Cost <ul><li>We can not decide on a cost for the airport because we do not know the exact amount of building materials, labour and how much things are in 2050. But we can say that it will be expensive but in the long run it will make quite a lot of money </li></ul>
  10. 10. Area <ul><li>We were thinking of putting it in Badgerys Creek because a proposed airport is supposed to be built there in the future. </li></ul>
