Appropriate business casual dress typically includes slacks or khakis, dress shirt or blouse, open-collar or polo shirt, optional tie or seasonal sport coat, a dress or skirt at knee-length or below, a tailored blazer, knit shirt or sweater, and loafers or dress shoes that cover all or most of the foot. For a full list of what your registration does and does not include, please visit: What access does a guest registration provide? A guest registration gives full access to the convention, with the exception of separately ticketed events. A spouse registered as a guest can go to all general sessions, breakout sessions, and the House of Friendship. If I’m already registered, can I pick up my badge early? If you've preregistered and paid in full, you can pick up your badge in Terminal 1 or 2 at the Hamburg International Airport before arriving at the convention venue beginning on 30 May. Be sure to have your photo ID and registration number with you and look for signs and volunteers in the baggage claim area to direct you to the badge pickup locations. Then use your badge to access the HVV Trains from the airport to downtown beginning Friday 31 May. I’m arriving by train. Is registration available at the train station? Badge pickup is only available at the airport or Hall A2 in the Hamburg Messe. On-site registration will open at 15:00 Thursday, 30 May, in Hall A2 at the Hamburg Messe. How far can I travel on public transportation with my badge? Your convention badge will cover public transportation as outlined within the grey circle on the HVV map, which you can access at and download the transportation guide. Your pass is valid for trains, buses, and ferries within the grey circle on the HVV map. If spouses, partners, or guests aren’t registered for Convention, can they purchase a HVV pass? Yes, it varies based on the duration. The Hamburg CARD is valid for 1-5 days; you can learn more on their website: How will I be assigned to a general session seating? You will be assigned to the first or second seating based on your order of registration, or you can choose a session in the Inspiration Lounge by clicking the yellow register button at What is the Inspiration Lounge? We have a new feature this year – the Inspiration Lounge. Located in Hall B5, the Inspiration Lounge will be a comfortable space to experience the 2019 International Convention, including the Opening General Session. You’ll find different styles of seating- café, communal tables, lounge and theater. It’s designed to facilitate the most important feature of the convention to attendees: networking. This comfortable and interactive space will be a new way for you and your guests to experience the 2019 Convention Opening General Session. The Lounge will also be open to all full conference attendees Monday – Wednesday, show live casts of our breakout sessions, engaging with breakout speakers after their sessions, book signings and more.
  2. 2. 2 Will there be Wi-Fi at the Convention Center? Yes, there will be free WiFi available at the Hamburg Messe. If an event is sold out will more tickets be available or a waiting list? Unfortunately, we are not able to maintain a waiting list. However, for Rotary ticketed events, additional tickets may become available about an hour before the event based on attendance. When will the Convention mobile app be available? The app is working now! We will be adding more information to the app over the next several weeks. Search for “Rotary Events” in your app store, or visit to download the app.
