Ltd. Happy Birthday ! VP Ashi together with members were pleased to extend best wishes to PN Dr. Shahul Hameed who will celebrate his birthday on 14th May 2012. 2
  3. 3. Welcome of visiting Mr. Fernandez thanked Rtn. Uttam for the introduction and added thatRotarians and guests he drew inspiration from another song and started to sing the openingRtn. Laveen Daryani welcomed bars of “I’d rather be a hammer thanour guests and visiting Rotarians a nail” (El Condor Pasa). Mr. Fernandez’s animated talk received lively responses from- Guests : members, particularly in suggestionsMs. Collette Abbot on how to resolve his personalMs. Simran Bedi conflicts, involving his wife, aMr. Mark Chan football match and his leaking roof!Mr. Bentinck Ng He highlighted the fact that as aVisiting Rotarians : trained negotiater, his first tool wasAG Erich Schneider - Queenstown to persuade, to problem solve and then to negotiate/ trade. He added that members should not view pressure due to unrealistic demand as a problem, but rather as an opportunity. Mr. Fernandez further recounted some of his company’sSpeaker of the week successes in assisting other companies. Rtn. Jeremy Han warmly thankedVP Ashi invited Rtn. Uttam Kripalani Mr. Fernandez for his entertainingto introduce the Guest talk which drew the audience into anSpeaker, Mr. Terrence Fernandez. interesting and lively discussion.Rtn. Uttam noted a very well-known song written by Lee Haysand Pete Seegar, and hegamely, sang two verses of the “If Ihad a hammer” (The HammerSong), and he wondered if thespeaker, Mr. Fernandez, got someinspiration from this song. Rtn.Uttam advised that Mr. Fernandezwas an entrepreneur, with over 12years of experience inbranding, advertising and sales. Hehas successfully consulted anddelivered the Scotwork Suite ofnegotiating courses to his businesspartners that include MNCs andmany other prominent companies. 3
