Need: A biotechnology client wished to understand the
commercial market for an in-house developed unique knowledge
platform.

Solution: Incite Advisors researched the opportunity and created
a high level business plan including:
  •   Feature Assessment
  •   Market sizing framework
  •   Positioning Matrix
  •   Financial model and 10-year forecast

Results: Executive management gained deeper insights into the
costs and risks associated to commercialization and were able to
advance their commercial strategy to achieve commercialization
milestones.
M&A Due Diligence
Need: A leading contract research organization required
technical and business due diligence to aid their decision making
prior to an acquisition.

Solution: Detailed assessment of target company sales plan,
market forecast and financial statements. Provided detailed
analysis of business model, market dynamics and competitive
matrix, including identification of follow on acquisition candidates
to enhance the initial transaction.

Results: Management was provided key market and operating
assumptions and was able to set expectations for the post-
merger performance increasing their confidence and strength in
negotiation based on their valuation assumptions.
Landscape Assessment
Need: A sequencing services provider was looking for a
comprehensive list of contract sequencing services enterprises
for possible acquisition.

Solution: Developed a market segmentation framework for
binning candidate firms according to:
  • strengths, weaknesses, profitability, geography, market position,
   access to capital, technology, and application mix.
The framework was populated with data from WWW sources
and contact with industry source to develop a candidate list and
themes for investment, co-marketing, or acquisition.

Results: Working as a member of the clients team, the
information was organized for presentation to senior
management as a key element of the long-range strategic
acquisition plan.
