HONORING GOD THROUGH
ANSWERING QUESTIONS
I Peter 3:15-16

• Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if
someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready
to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep
your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they
will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live
because you belong to Christ. (I Peter 3:15-16, NLT)

Honor God
• Worship God and serve Him only
• Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your
mind, and with all your strength (Mark 12:29-30)
• God must be the number one in your life

Be Ready to Answer
• Apologia (apologetics) – ready to defend the truth for God’s glory
(Jude 1:3; II Corinthians 10:5)
• Be ready to answer the questions about why Christianity is true:
• Why God exist?
• Why the Bible is true and reliable?
• Why Jesus is the divine Son of God?
• Why salvation is through Christ alone?
• As we present the Gospel, we must prepare ourselves to answer the
questions about our faith (Matthew 28:18-20)

Do it with gentleness and respect
• When sharing the Gospel, let them see God’s love
• When defending the Gospel, do not use it with a reason of being
proud of arguing
• When evangelizing the lost, let the Holy Spirit be the One who speaks
• Let them encourage to examine the evidence for themselves
• Pray for them

Have a pure conscience
• Make sure that we are living according to the will of God
• Practice what you preach
• Be a good example in words, behavior, love, faith and purity
• Live a life according to the will of God

Why is it important?
• It is important because…
• It validates Christian truth
• It is one of God’s method to save the lost (evangelism)
• It strengthens the church (edification of saints)

Conclusion
• Continue to honor God in everything
• If there is an opportunity, when someone asks questions, then be
ready to answer
• When it comes on evangelism, do this with love, gentleness and
respect
• Have a clear conscience, trust in the Lord, and live according to His
will
