CAREER OBJECTIVE
My objective is to utilize my experience while continuing to be challenged and to establish long term employment
in a friendly environment. I feel that I am a friendly, outgoing and dependable person.
EXPERIENCE/ MILITARY CAREER HISTORY
Completed 20 years of military service as Commissioned Officer in Sri Lanka Army from 06 July 1995 to 31 Dec
2015. Gave the active leadership for Operational and Administrative task for military and non-military task in war
and post war scenario with responsibility. Performed the duties entrusted and responsible to me in Command and
Staff appointments with effectively and efficiently during my Military career. My Military career progress is as
follows;
 BRIGADE MAJOR of 211 Brigade Headquarters, Vavuniya in 2014 and 2015.
o supervised the Brigade Headquarters team of 7 subordinate officers and 90 Non commissioned
officers to achieve the operational, logistic and administrative need of Brigade and under command
two Battalions (each Battalion consist of 46 x 1102 soldiers)
o supervised the maintenance, security and operation of 825 square kilometers in general area of
Vavuniya and Medawachchiya.
o Ssupervised the non-military tasks & coordinated with the civil authority.
o coordinate the launching and training of the Brigade riot control teams
o responsible for maintaining Armoury & Ammunition Dump worth of about Rs: 37 million.
o Brigade Safety and Security Officer- responsible for the contingency plan of the camp.
 SECOND IN COMMAND of 4 Armoured Regiment at Trincomalee in 2013 and 2014
o performed the responsibility of planning, monitoring and execution of all organization’s activities and
all aspects of Human Resource Management.
o supervised and maintained administrative, logistic and operational healthiness of the Regiment,
consist with 43 officers & 842 non commissioned officers with 52 Armoured Tanks.
o maintained the Regiment account of about Rs; 08 million
o Regiment safety & security Officer- Planned, rehearsed and executed the Regiment security plan,
Surveillance plan and implement the safety measures.
 HEADQUARTER SQUADRON COMMAND of 4 Armoured Regiment in 2011 & 2012
o executed the administrative and logistic tasks of the Regiment by effectively utilizing 6 officers &
229 Non Commissioned Officers
o interview & interrogation- identified the problem areas of personal & the organization by
successfully interviewing & interrogating and was able to take remedial measures.
o supervised the duties & responsibilities of the under command sections -office section, Logistic
section, Technical section, Communication section, Transport section and Training section.
 STAFF OFFICER 2 (ADMIN) of Directorate of Army Medical Service in 2008 & 2011.
o Supervised 6 officers & 130 men to coordinated all the administrative and logistic matters of the
army medical installations and assisted the Director in planning and implementing effective medical
support plan of the Army during war and post war scenario in 2008 & 2011 in the rank of Major.
o in Charge for the ninety numbers of Ambulance fleet of the SL Army
o Treasurer for the Hospital Development Fund of the SL Army (about 20 million).
 SQUADRON COMMAND– at 8th
Regiment from 2004 to 2008
o Commanded the 8 officers & 153 men with 12 Armoured Tanks (worth of about 240 million) and
led to achieve the operational and administrative goals successfully, at Jaffna Peninsula .
o Planned & implemented combat orders and directed deployment of troops in offensive and defensive
role.
 GENERAL STAFF OFFICER 3 (OPERATION)- at 515 Brigade Headquarters in 2003 and 2004
o analyzed and planned the Training, Communication and Intelligent needs of the Brigade Headquarters
and under command battalions in 2003 and 2004 in the rank of Captain.
 SQUADRON SECOND IN COMMAND of the 6th
Regiment in 2002 to 2003
o performed the administrative and operational task by supervising 8 officers & 153 soldiers
o Directed subordinates and superiors by providing tactical and technical guidance.
 MOTOR TRANSPORT OFFICER of the 6th
Regiment in year 2000 to 2002
o performed well in proper utilization and administration of the organic Regiment Vehicle fleet with
limited resources by supervising 75 Soldiers in the Troop in year 2000 to 2002.
 ASSISTANT ADJUTANT of the 6th
Regiment in in1999-2000.
o planned, organized and executed the communication, intelligent and operational task by supervising
the team of 34 soldiers.
 TROOP LEADER of 6th
Regiment in 1997 and 1998.
o Led the Troop of 35 Soldiers with three Armoured and equipment (worth of about 60 million) to
achieve the Goals & Objectives in operational & administrative tasks successfully in Northern part of
the country during high intensity battle situation in a high pressure environment.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
During my military career I’ve successfully followed the following foreign and local courses;
 Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare Course - at Infantry Training Centre, Maduru Oya from13
January 2014 to 27 March 2014. Course consists of counter constructive and destructive tactics of
Insurgency, Proactive and reactive measures in Tactical and Operational level of Insurgency conflict, civil
military coordination
 Potential Observer & Staff Officer Course -held at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training,
Sri Lanka,from 09 January 2012 to 28January 2012. Course is to enhance the knowledge as an Observer
and Staff Officer to employ in the Untied Nation Missions in world wide.
 Junior Command & Staff Course-at Air Force Academy, Trincomalee. Course consists of knowledge for
Command & Staff ability with Human Resources Management from May to August 12.
 Technical Officer Course, Pakistan- from 01 January to 26 April 2008. Course contained advance
technical and tactical aspect of Armoured Tanks in Armoured Battle.
 Young Officer Course, Pakistan-in Pakistan from 05 Jul to 05 Dec 2004.Course contained Tactics,
Communication, Gunnary, Driving & Mechanism and Logistic support in Armoured Battle.
 Balance Style course – Joint Exercise with US Marine at Uva Kuda Oya Combat Training School, from 09
July 2002 to 09 August 2002.
 Young Officer Basic course –course contained Tactics, Communicatin, Gunnary, Driving & Mechanism
and Logistic support of Armoured Tanks in Armoured Battle. From 12 Feb to 03 Jul 2002 at Armoured
Corps Training Centre, Kalaththewa.
 Information Technology course- at Kothalawala Defence University from 05 Jul to 02 Aug 99.
 Computer course- at CIMA from01 April 99 to 27 May 99. Contained operating MS office package and
entering data in English/ Sinhala languages.
 Basic Military Course - completed two years of initial military training at Sri Lanka military Academy,
Diyathalawa from 06 July 95 to 21June 97.
OTHER EXPERIENCES / QUALIFICATIONS
 Following Professional Qualification in Human Resources Management course at IPM, presently.
 Computer Literacy - proficient in operating MS Word, Excel and Power point packages, entering data in
English/ Sinhala languages, familiar with Internet
 Event Coordinator - Performed well in Planning, Coordinating & implementing different Events. eg;
Outward Bound Training for private organizations, Recruits Passing Outs, VVIP Movements at
Vavuniya, Religious festival, Army Level Sports tournaments etc;
 Possess the Driving License for Dual Purpose Vehicle and Mortar bicycles
 Experience at working in a high-pressure environment.

  • 2. o in Charge for the ninety numbers of Ambulance fleet of the SL Army o Treasurer for the Hospital Development Fund of the SL Army (about 20 million).  SQUADRON COMMAND– at 8th Regiment from 2004 to 2008 o Commanded the 8 officers & 153 men with 12 Armoured Tanks (worth of about 240 million) and led to achieve the operational and administrative goals successfully, at Jaffna Peninsula . o Planned & implemented combat orders and directed deployment of troops in offensive and defensive role.  GENERAL STAFF OFFICER 3 (OPERATION)- at 515 Brigade Headquarters in 2003 and 2004 o analyzed and planned the Training, Communication and Intelligent needs of the Brigade Headquarters and under command battalions in 2003 and 2004 in the rank of Captain.  SQUADRON SECOND IN COMMAND of the 6th Regiment in 2002 to 2003 o performed the administrative and operational task by supervising 8 officers & 153 soldiers o Directed subordinates and superiors by providing tactical and technical guidance.  MOTOR TRANSPORT OFFICER of the 6th Regiment in year 2000 to 2002 o performed well in proper utilization and administration of the organic Regiment Vehicle fleet with limited resources by supervising 75 Soldiers in the Troop in year 2000 to 2002.  ASSISTANT ADJUTANT of the 6th Regiment in in1999-2000. o planned, organized and executed the communication, intelligent and operational task by supervising the team of 34 soldiers.  TROOP LEADER of 6th Regiment in 1997 and 1998. o Led the Troop of 35 Soldiers with three Armoured and equipment (worth of about 60 million) to achieve the Goals & Objectives in operational & administrative tasks successfully in Northern part of the country during high intensity battle situation in a high pressure environment. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS During my military career I’ve successfully followed the following foreign and local courses;  Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare Course - at Infantry Training Centre, Maduru Oya from13 January 2014 to 27 March 2014. Course consists of counter constructive and destructive tactics of Insurgency, Proactive and reactive measures in Tactical and Operational level of Insurgency conflict, civil military coordination  Potential Observer & Staff Officer Course -held at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training, Sri Lanka,from 09 January 2012 to 28January 2012. Course is to enhance the knowledge as an Observer and Staff Officer to employ in the Untied Nation Missions in world wide.  Junior Command & Staff Course-at Air Force Academy, Trincomalee. Course consists of knowledge for Command & Staff ability with Human Resources Management from May to August 12.  Technical Officer Course, Pakistan- from 01 January to 26 April 2008.
