Looking for a way to get your message to a targeted audience
Looking for a way to
get your message to
a targeted audience?
I’d like to introduce you to the Iowa DTV Symposium, an educational seminar
hosted annually by Iowa Public Television. The Iowa DTV Symposium draws
engineers and technicians, digital content creators and educators from all over
the United States to Des Moines, Iowa, to learn practical applications and
problem solutions for implementing digital media technology. Attendees are
offered two concurrent program tracks: one designed to educate content creators
on working with digital media and the second track for engineers working to
implement digital media technologies in their facilities. The two and a half-day
program features presentations and demonstrations by leading industry
professionals. The presentations are real-world solution-based and provide the
attendee with valuable information and insights regarding a wide range of DTV
topics. Over the last few years, the Iowa DTV Symposium has grown from a
small technical seminar to a multimedia and multidiscipline technology education
showcase that draws over 400 media professionals from all over the United
States and is still growing.
So why do we do this? The mission of Iowa Public Television is education,
therefore, the DTV Symposium is an excellent occasion to accomplish this
objective. Like all broadcasters, Iowa Public Television is in the process of
implementing DTV on our statewide transmitter network and converting our
origination facilities to handle high-definition television, multicasting, datacasting,
interactivity, and a multitude of other technologies that are all part of the DTV
experience. This conversion will require our people to learn about and
understand the new technologies, and the DTV Symposium allows us an
opportunity to learn and educate. Attendance to the Iowa DTV Symposium is free
to all registrants and is open to commercial and non-commercial broadcasters,
production houses, free lance consultants, educators and anyone who has a
stake in learning about how DTV technology will impact their profession.
This is where you come in. We are always on the lookout for presenters who can
educate attendees on current and relevant solutions and trends in the digital
arena. If you are interested in presenting at the 2005 Iowa DTV Symposium, I
would like to hear from you. Please contact me at 515.242.3116 or
