  • all kinds of shapes and all kinds of aubjects\nA blog is an opinion by someone. It’s a personal thing and it can’t be wrong......because it’a an opinion\nThe people’s journalism\nIt’s fast, anyone can do it\n
  • \n
  • I’t fun to do\nTo get your mind straightened\nTo remember, not just for yourself\nTo share what you know and discuss with other people\nTo meet new people en insights\nBecause you can be very successful doing it.\n
  • A little bit about social media and personal branding\nsubjects can be very niche: if you’re enthusiastic about them, it’s okay\n
  • lightwieght vehicle desing is quite a niche subject but it is big enough for a blog\n
  • reflections on the weird an wonderful world of innovation by Stephan van Dijk. \n
  • \n
  • meta blogs my collegues. For instance Roy Meijer blogs about the things he comes across being one of the science communicator at TU Delft. On this blog he writes about men in suits signing some document. The photo is a reason for the press to show up???? really???\n
  • Eva Lantsoght is writing about what it’s like to do a PhD at TU Delft. It has brought her a lot for her research but also to speak at congrresses\n
  • Michel blogs about his works a press officer at TU Delft. For instance the relationship between scientist and general public or tips on how to approach a journalist\n
  • my blog. I blog about the relationship between social media and universities. My blog about social media and target groups is read over 26.000 times on my blog and another 15.000 on socialmedia.nl.\n
  • \n
  • Determine your area of expertise\ndevelop your own style of writing\npost regularly but think of the frequency in advace\nAllow commenting and engage\n
  • What subjects do I know a lot about?\nWhich of them do I want to be public?\nWhere are others like me?\nHow/where can I create buzz?\n
  • Who is my (target) public?\nThird person / first person?\nfactual / emotional?\nProvocative?\nMarketing language?\n
  • Detemine your frequency up front....once a week is quite a lot\nBe true to yourself, don’t give in to compromises\nThink of what it should bring you and evaluate that\n
  • Engage, react, comment, discuss, provoke etc etc etc\nA negative reaction is a reaction as well: people have put some effort in engaging. Do the same!\n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • Leave the title for last\n
  • write as a roll up. People should be able to stop at any time and not miss out on your crucial point\n
  • Use video if it adds to your story (and it adds very soon actually)\n
  • Use images or infographics (even better)\n
  • \n
  • \n
  • \n
  • Tweet every new post (think of the timezone of your audience)\nTweet old posts (but not too often), relate them to news if possible\nExchange linls with other blogs / bloggers\nBe interesting enough\nMake links with facebook, twitter, Linkedin but use it wisely\npost relevant blogs in relevant groups on facebook and linkedin\n
  • Comment on other blogs, sometimes linking to your own\n\n
