  3. 3. What are interjections? • Exclamation • Part of speech • Words added to a sentence Congratulations! You finally got your driver’s license.
  4. 4. How are they used? • Used in casual writing • Used in direct quotations • Used to convey emotions The teacher said: “Please bring your textbooks tomorrow. Don’t forget!”
  5. 5. Common interjections Ouch! LOL! TGIF! Oh, my! See next slide for further explanation
