Introduction : -
Transformer is the Static Device . Which has Primary and Secondary Winding .
The Physical basis of a Transformer is Mutual Induction between two circuit
linked by a common magnetic flux .
It is electrically separated but Magnetically linked through a path of low
reluctance .
1) It transfer electric power from one circuit to another .
2) It dose without change in frequency .
3) It accomplishes this by electromagnetic induction And
4) Where the two electric circuit are in mutual inductive influence of each other.
Principal :-
The working principle of transformer is very simple.
It depends upon Faraday's law of electromagnetic
induction. Actually, mutual induction between two or
more winding is responsible for transformation action in
an electrical transformer.
 Faraday's Laws of Electromagnetic
Induction
"Rate of change of flux linkage with respect to time
is directly proportional to the induced EMF in a
conductor or coil".
Types of Transformer :-
Power Transformer :-
1. Laminated core --
2. Toroidal =
3. Autotransformer
4. Variable
autotransformer =
• Constant voltage transformer
• Oil cooled transformer
• Instrument transformer
• Pulse transformer
Manufacture process of transformer :-
1. Manufacturing of primary winding
2. Manufacture of secondary Winding
3. Manufacture of Core
4. Manufacture of winding on core
5. The Winding Core in filled in oil tank
6. Some required wiring
7. Testing of Transformer
1. Manufacture of primary :-
The winding of primary is completed on the machine , shown in below
After one wound put some paper for insulation of the transformer
Paper is protects from the damage .
2. Manufacture of Core :-
• The stacking of core are manufacture as per requirement of rating
• The core is divided in many shape and size .
this shapes are attached as below shape .
3. Manufacturing of winding on core :-
As shown in picture there are three phase of transformer .
Which as winding of primary and secondary .
4. The winding core is filled in oil tank :-
After that process of winding core filled in tank , we can say that tank as
transformer .
5. Testing of transformer
Before supply to customer its
• load test
• No load test
• Winding resistor
• Ratio of winding
• Megger test
This is use for
fault detection of
transformer
material which is
use for
manufacture of
transformer.
Types of transformer :-
1 )There are two types of transformer shell type and core type transformer .
2) And also distribution transformer two types :
- power transformer
- distribution transformer .
Core transformerShell type Transformer
Cooling of transformer :-
• Oil is use for cooling of transformer :-
oil use in transformer for two purposes :- 1. insulation 2. cooling
• Buchholz relay :-
in some transformer use bushels relay for cooling purposes .
it is alarm when some fault occurs in transformer .
• Radiator :- radiator is use for cooling of transformer .
Arrangement for fault detection :-
• Level tank detection
• Buchholz relay
• Marshaling box
Fault detection arrangement :-
This is Relay which is use for the protection
of transformer when there are over heating
or oil leakage .
Buchholz relay :-
When this relay is use transformer is protect ted by
many faults .
Such that when there is over heating , then its alarm
and detect the fault
Also in oil leakage .

  • 8. 1. Manufacture of primary :- The winding of primary is completed on the machine , shown in below After one wound put some paper for insulation of the transformer Paper is protects from the damage .
  • 9. 2. Manufacture of Core :- • The stacking of core are manufacture as per requirement of rating • The core is divided in many shape and size . this shapes are attached as below shape .

  • 11. 3. Manufacturing of winding on core :- As shown in picture there are three phase of transformer . Which as winding of primary and secondary .
  • 12. 4. The winding core is filled in oil tank :- After that process of winding core filled in tank , we can say that tank as transformer .
  • 13. 5. Testing of transformer Before supply to customer its • load test • No load test • Winding resistor • Ratio of winding • Megger test This is use for fault detection of transformer material which is use for manufacture of transformer.

Cooling of transformer :- • Oil is use for cooling of transformer :- oil use in transformer for two purposes :- 1. insulation 2. cooling • Buchholz relay :- in some transformer use bushels relay for cooling purposes . it is alarm when some fault occurs in transformer . • Radiator :- radiator is use for cooling of transformer .

Buchholz relay :- When this relay is use transformer is protect ted by many faults . Such that when there is over heating , then its alarm and detect the fault Also in oil leakage .
