2. The Story…
Sarah was an outgoing popular girl who met Darren. Darren
was a drug addicted physcopath who social underclass of a
South East London Estate. Sarah then became addicted to
drugs and cigarettes. Her social status slowly degraded and
soon she was hated by all of her old friends. Alex has loved
Sarah since they met at the start of school and he tries to
save her from Darren's grasp.
3. Settings and themes
Most of the film will be set on the estate with some scene
being set in the school that they all attend. This will make
the viewer have the feeling that these people are poor and
do not travel far from where they live. This will help give
the film an atmosphere that these people are trapped in and
around the estate.
4. Why we chose the title.
We chose this name because it is all about the different
mind sets the children have and the estate that the children
life on. I think that our title tells a lot about the film before
people have even seen it.
5. Characters.
Sarah (Emma Watson)– Drug Addicted, Smoker, she used to be very kind and
popular, but she was slowly dragged down into a drug filled depressive life.
Alex (Aaron Johnson) – Has loved Sarah since they met at the start of school.
Desperately wants to escape the estate he has grown up in. He has to constantly look
after his younger sister so he has little time to spend on school work. The grades he
needs for Uni are slipping away from him the more he helps the people around him.
Darren (Bolton Smilie)– He becomes Sarah boyfriends for a short time, but she is
taken in by the drugs and cigarettes and is soon addicted. Darren has a very haard
and poor upbringing so he doesn’t know any other way of life.
6. Narrative.
The main narrative of the story will be told through Sarah
point of view and what happens to her throughout the story.
Some of the story will also be told from Alex’s point of
view so the viewer can see how he is struggling for the Uni
place he wants. The main setting for the entire film will be
the large, poor east London estate were all three teenagers
grew up and live. Another major setting for the film will be
the school which they all attend.
Many themes will be used such as drug use, struggling with
teenage life and the gang wars often fought in and around
the estate.
7. Audience interest.
The film will start by setting the story by showing an incite
into the three main characters lives. This will make the
audience want to find out what happens to these characters
throughout the story and will create initial interest in the
film.
8. Conventions within the
genre.
The film will mainly be filmed at eye level to give the
viewer the feel that they are living the story within. The
film will follow the story in real time to stop the viewer
having the feeling that the children are ageing rapidly. Props
will be limited to things that real people in this situation
would have. There will be no expensive phones, laptops or
clothes, this is the viewer will totally believe the situation
that the people are in.
9. How we will create
interest.
We will be launching a large media campaign including TV
adverts and poster. We will use the TV advertisement on as
many channels as possible and poster will be put up in all
major towns and cities. Many different trailers for the film
will also be brought out to increase public interest in the
film.
10. Why our film is different?
Our film is different because the story has not been done
before and our cast is original. The group of young actors
we have cast have never all been in a film together
before, and some have not done this genre of film before.
They will bring new skills to this genre and our film.
