Siebel Tools Switches

  1. 1. January 30, 2015 Siebel Tools Compilation
  2. 2. January 30, 2015 Did you Know? • Siebdev.Exe has one startup switch, /C – This automatically begins compilation, then exits Siebel Tools when the compilation is complete – It requires a number of other switches to work properly • /U USERNAME • /P PASSWORD • /C TOOLS CONFIG FILE • /D Data Source from Config File • /TL Tools Language to Compile (ENU, FRA, DEU etc) • /BC « Siebel Repository » or the name of the Repository to Compile • The name and path of the SRF to compile into
  3. 3. January 30, 2015 Automatically Compile – For example • Siebdev /c Tools.cfg /U SADMIN /P SADMIN /D ServerDataSrc /TL ENU /BC « Siebel Repository » c:MyClientObjectsENUmysrf.srf • This always performs a FULL COMPILE • This always exits after termination • This never runs the client after the compilation is finished • It is therefore very useful for unattended compilation at project check points and in scripted back-up or other administrative routines
  4. 4. January 30, 2015 Command Line Import & Export • You can also use Siebel Tools in Command Line mode to import and export SIF archives – For example • siebdev.exe /batchimport « Siebel Repository » overwrite myfile.sif, myfile2.sif • siebdev.exe /batchimport « Siebel Repository » overwrite d:folderfullofsifs – For example • /batchexport « Siebel Repository » « Input File » « Log File » – Input File is a text file with Objects, Search Criteria and SIF file names – Business Object,Account*,Bus_Obj.sif (this would export all Business Objects like Account* and put them in the SIF file with the name Bus_Obj.sif • More Information in Siebel Tools Help File « Using Siebel Tools »
  5. 5. Command Line Locale Mgmt • siebdev /u sadmin /p sadmin /d server • /lmu ENU FRA • export proj | app • All | string filename (*.slf | *.xlf) • File with list of projects (if export proj) • Export all Strings from Projects in File into an XLF File, source ENU target FRA January 30, 2015
