Siebel Connector for Policy Automation

  1. 1. Siebel ConnectorThe Oracle Policy Automation Siebel Connector allows the integration of the power of the natural language determination engine of Policy Automation with the Relationship Management capabilities of Oracle Siebel CRM
  2. 2. Installing the Connector• Installing the connector requires knowledge of Siebel and Siebel Tools – SIF Files to import Applets, Business Services and a number of other objects – XML Files to import Workflows – Changes to the Schema must be applied to the database• All this is packaged into a Wizard
  3. 3. Installing the Connector• In addition to the Siebel Tools metadata, some further changes are made – Responsibilities must be updated to allow users to access the Policy Automation Administration Views – Outbound Web Services may have to be created or modified to point to the correct location of Policy Automation
  4. 4. Installing the Connector• Symbolic URL is also created and may need to be edited – Through the Web Services and the Symbolic URL the Connector supports either Determination Server (Web Service) or Web Determination (HTML frame or page integration)
  5. 5. Implementing a UI• To implement a User Interface feature using the Connector, two choices are possible – Use the Symbolic URL to embed or present an interview (as an example) in HTML format with Policy Automation Screens – Use the Workflows, Web Services and Business Services to create a data-driven exchange
  6. 6. Implementing a UI• In the case of Workflow and Service based UI, the Button or other Element must call the relevant Workflow, passing information such as the Object Id, the Rulebase Name and any base-level attributes and returning the Outcome inside the response Property Set for processing or display.
  7. 7. Implementing a UI• To facilitate the integration, the Policy Automation Administration Views allow the creation of Mapping between Entities and Attributes in the Rulebase and Siebel Business Objects, Components and Fields
