   (sports/games, NSS, prizes)
7. References ( names of two or more people
   who certify the suitability of an applicants
   to the advertised position)
Some of the commonly used tests:
 1. Intelligence Tests
 2. Aptitude Tests
 3. Personality Tests
 4. Achievement Tests
 5. Simulation Tests
 6. Assessment Tests
 7. Assessment Centre
   These are mental ability tests.
   They measure the candidate’s learning ability.
   Also the ability to understand instructions
    and make judgments.
   Measure an individual’s potential to learn
    certain skills-
    clerical, mechanical, mathematical, etc.
   These tests indicate whether or not an
    individual has the ability to learn a given job
    quickly and efficiently.
   Used to measure basic aspects of an
    applicants’ personality. E.g., self-
    confidence, introversion, emotional balance.
   Used to measure what the applicant can do
    on the job currently. E.g., typing test.
   It is a test which duplicates many of the
    activities and problems an employee faces
    while at work.
   It is an extended work sample.
   It uses procedures that incorporate group and
    individual exercise.
   These exercises are designed to simulate the
    type of work which the candidate will be
    expected to do.
Types of Interview
1. The Non-directive Interview
2. The Directive or Structured Interview
3. The Situational Interview
4. The Behavioral Interview
5. Stress Interview
6. Panel Interview
Medical Examination can give the
  following info.
1. The applicant is medically suitable for
   the specific for the specific job or
   not.
2. The applicant has health problems or
   psychological attitudes likely to
   interfere with work efficiency or
   further attendance.
3. The applicant suffers from bad health
   which should be corrected before he can
   work satisfactorily.
4. The applicant’s physical measurements are
   in accordance with job requirements or
   not.
If the reference check is from the previous
  employer: Job Title, Job Description, Period of
  employment, Pay and Allowances, Benefits
  provided, rate of absence
