Fungicides China News 1004 - Annual subscription

With the policies beneficial for agriculture, rural area and the peasants, planting enthusiasm of Chinese peasants have greatly heightened in recent two years. They are making great efforts to increase crop yield. It was expected that the peasants would spend more in agrochemicals, so the fungicide consumption volume might rise accordingly. The serious drought broke out in Southwest China in recent days has greatly restricted fungicide application there. However, in other aspect, the drought will boost up future prices of agricultural products in the market. In order to earn more profit, peasants in other regions would invest more in guaranteeing good yield. Therefore, fungicide consumption in other regions will rise to some extent, which is good news for Chinese fungicide producers. Besides, it is predicted that Chinese pesticides exported to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will see an increase in 2010, thanks to the tariff cut of ASEAN for Chinese pesticides, as ASEAN is a large destination for Chinese pesticides. The export volume of fungicides will rise accordingly. Supply of most fungicides is tight at present, thanks to robust demand both at home and abroad. As a result, their prices are also boosted up to some extent. BASF's epoxiconazole will face strong competition from China's epoxiconazole in 2010.11 fungicide formulations are recommended by Jiangsu Agriculture Commission recently. Kewenling, with excellent control effect on rice sheath blight and rice false smut, has obtained national patent protection recently.Weihai Hanwei has developed a new fungicide with broad spectrum and excellent control effect, temporarily named 'ShaDuMeiSu'. Huaxing Chemical's 500t/a kresoxim-methyl technical project has been listed in Anhui Provincial Torch Program in March 2010. Soil fumigants market is likely to expand greatly in China.Supply of most fungicides in China has been tight at present, driven by both robust demands at home and abroad.Anhui Futian postpones construction of its 500t/a metalaxyl technical production line from January to August, due to delayed construction of the plant. Rudong Zhongyi plans to build two fungicide production lines - tebuconazole and cyproconazole, with 2,000t/a and 200t/a capacity respectively, and initiate the construction in late 2010. Anhui Guangxin expands its thiophanate-methyl capacity from 3,000t/a to 10,000t/a early this year, enables it the largest thiophanate-methyl producer in China. Yangnong Group plans to launch four fungicides including carbendazim, thiophanate-methyl, propiconazole and difenoconazole. As a key raw material for many industrial products, hydrazinium hydroxide attracts much attention in China and enjoys bright prospect. Three key potato diseases, including early blight, late blight and virus disease, are to occur seriously in China in 2010, with 3.70 million hectares stricken area. 304 fungicide registrations were achieved by 223 companies in Mar. 2010, including 17 for technical, 201 for single formulation and 86 for mixed formulation.Difenoconazole is the most popular A.I. registered in Mar. 2010, thanks to its wide application scope and the peak consumption season.
