How to Find a Person using ReferenceUSA

  1. 1. How  to   Find  a  Person  
  2. 2. 1.  A%er  accessing  ReferenceUSA  through  your  library.    Select  the   Consumers/Lifestyles  database.  
  3. 3. 2.  Enter  the  First  Name,  Last  Name,  City  and  State  for  the  person  you   are  looking  for.    If  you  don’t  have  all  the  informaHon,  enter  the   informaHon  you  do  have.  
  4. 4. 3.  Select  view  Results  to  see  the  possible  results  
  5. 5. 4.  If  there  are  too  many  results  try  to  narrow  the  results  by  revising   your  search  and  using  the  advanced  search  opHon.      
  6. 6. 5.  In  the  advanced  search  opHon  select  one  or  more  filters  to  narrow   the  search.    Name,  Phone,  Geography  or  Housing  SelecHons  are  good   opHons  when  trying  to  find  an  individual.  
  7. 7. 6.  Do  not  use  consumer  snapshot  elements  as  you  will  not  be  able  to   see  these  individuals  names  or  their  records.    These  are  sensiHve   date  elements.  
  8. 8. 6.  A%er  selecHng  the  filters  to  search  new  windows  open  in  the  center   column.  Enter  the  required  informaHon  in  each  window.    When  complete   select  update  count  to  determine  how  many  results  you  will  have.    When   you  are  saHsfied  with  your  results  press  view  results.        
  9. 9. 6.  On  the  results  page  you  will  be  able  to  see  the  results  and   potenHally  find  the  person  you  are  looking  for.
