Recticel India Pvt. Ltd. officially inauguratedOn Sunday, November 13, 2011, the new conversion plant of Recticel Flexible Foams inMumbai was officially inaugurated.India is one of the fastestgrowing economiesworldwide with a predictedaverage GDP growth of 6%for the next 10 to 20 yearsand a huge potentialindustrial and consumermarket. Recticel FlexibleFoams will trade andconvert mainly technicalflexible polyurethanefoams for the local market.The 6000m² plant which is located in Taloja, Navi Mumbai, close to the Nhava Shiva port ofMumbai, will be equipped with state of the art conversion machinery (cutting, profiling,laminating, compressing and more) to service different market segments with hightechnological foam solutions.While Recticel is already market leader in India for air filter foams in the automotive sector,it will also focus on other profitable technical segments such as acoustics.The official opening ceremony, which took place onsite, was attended by a large delegationof Flemish officials, led by the Flemish Minister President Kris Peeters and Karl Van denBossche, Consul-General of Belgium in Mumbai in the presence of many Indian businessrelations.
The delegation was welcomed by Filip Goris, Regional Manager Asia and Latin-America. After the ribbon cutting and the traditional Hindu “Pooja” inauguration ceremony, the delegation and other invitees were invited to the roof top terrace for a reception and walking lunch buffet.Filip Goris thanked all of those who helped in setting up this new entity in India, andforemost the first hour employees of Recticel India Pvt. Ltd.: Abhijit Diwadkar (GeneralManager), Ashok Singh Sain (Business Development Manager Mumbai), Vijay Kumar(Business Development Manager Bangalore), Deepak Sawant (Finance Manager) and AparnaMunjewar (Sales Support Officer).
The Flemish Minister President Peeters on his turn praised Recticel for its pioneering and proactive approach in India, setting an example for other Flemish companies pursuing growth opportunities. The opening celebration, organised by Helga Laporte, International Business Development Manager, was covered extensively in the Belgian media.
