With an background in ‘Communications and Journalism’, she has started as a copywriter and went onto serve as Head-Strategic planning in her previous company. Alberto Lima Fernandes Alberto serves as a Manager for sales and Marketing- International Businesses. An Engineer who always adds a new dimensions to all our promotions. What is Augmented Reality? 5 • Integration of digital information with the user's environment in real time. • Unlike virtual reality, which creates a totally artificial environment, augmented reality uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. • Meeting and managing readers’ expectations of AR’s (Augmented Reality) capabilities is a significant challenge for publishing and other industries as well.

Out of which 40% has access to smartphones. • Internet access is increasing and currently stable to 2.8 billion people (almost 39% of world population) • With unique features and AR, Pokémon Go has managed to get downloads over 100 million times worldwide. It was Fastest to reach 10 million mark adding a whooping $12 billion to ‘Nintendo’s’ market value.

Augmented Reality for Publishers 7 • AR Books – Traditional books with a counterpart AR App. • It is linked to additional, non-traditional content through the use of technology • When a piece of technology with a display screen and a camera is pointed at a page in the traditional book, an app installed on the technology ‘reads’ the page and displays that additional content on the screen of the device • The AR content can be a picture or video file or an audio clip, or as complex as a whole animated sequence or even a game or activity associated with the traditional media
