A deep dive into the molecular world will lead to a
new narrative on the molecular and genetic relations
of our eating and health habits to explain why and
when we get sick.
For personalised medicine, extensive understanding
of the disease is in ecologic, cellular and genomic
dimensions are needed. Let’s define what being
healthy means with improved detection and analysis
methods.
Interlinking diagnostic data with massively
parallelized and automated upstream and
downstream processes will enable the downloading
of genetic sequences and materialise biological

Economics, Regulation and the future of
the Phage Therapy
Phage Therapy could help them. In combination
with advanced sequencing technology and with
decentralised “lab on a chip” drug production
personalised therapy is technically doable. Belgium
and France officially implemented phage therapy
as treatment of individual patients in 2017. Will
this novel regulatory scheme called magistral
preparations enable a new european pharma
economy?

By 2050, WHO estimates that 10 million people
will die every year because of multiresistant
bacteria.
Since 100 years, phage experts extract
microbiome samples from ill patients and select
personalized phages that successfully treat
bacterial infections.
Directly from Humans or Nature, Phage Hunters
collect phages all over the world and store them in
a library. The strain of patients with bacterial
infection is diagnosed, and from the library,
personalized phages are selected to design the
drug. This personalized cocktail is then given to
the patient as personalized therapy.
At UnternehmerTUM [x] advances Phage Therapy
and coordinates all value chain elements
necessary to make phage therapy a worldwide
success.

stored as biochemical molecules allows image
retouching using the CRISPR/Cas method. The
