This is a presentation on research we did when designing are own video game
For this assignment we had to come up with an idea for a new video game and then conduct research. We came up with the idea of a horror game.

From the first question we found out that the most liked game genres were Action and Adventure and the least liked game genre is Puzzle.
From the second question we learned that 61.90% of people play on PC, 42.86% of people play on X Box 360 and PS 4. we also found out that the least used platform is the Wii with only 4.76% of people playing on it regualy.
The third question tells us that most of the people who answered the questionnaire spend around £21-£30 on games per month.
These results show that 38.80% of people spend 3-5 hours a day playing on games. This means we can make are game longer than some other horror games.
This proves people like to get achievements on games to get a sense of accomplishment throughout the game.
This shows people think gameplay is the one of the most important parts of a game and that everything else also takes a big part in making the game as well.
This shows that most people buy games in a shop and not online like we expected so it shows it will be worth making a physical version of the game as well as making an online link to buy the game.
These results show that out of the selection of games that we give them there favourite horror game was outlast and there least favourite was pathologic
This shows that all the people who took the questionnaire think all the options are generally important in a horror games.
We found out that Amnesia is popular because of its complex puzzles and intense chases from monsters as well as the soundtrack which creates suspense therefore we will also have complex puzzles and make sure the music makes the player feel uneasy. Amnesia sold 920,000 units which shows how popular he game is.
We found out that Outlast is popular because of its gripping story and terrifying jump scares so we will include a good story and jump scares which will make our game more attractive to the customers. Outlast has sold 15 million copies which shows how popular it is
Slender the Arrival is popular because of its gameplay where you go complete different objectives while avoiding slender man. Trying to complete objectives while knowing that there might be something behind you makes you very paranoid and keeps you on edge the whole time. We will include this in our game as well which will keep players on their toes throughout the game. Slender has sold 10 million copies which shows how popular it is
While doing secondary research I found several reviews about the games which had a mixture of positive and negative points about the game. This will help us with our game because we can avoid making any mistakes that the games we researched made
From all of our research we think our game will be popular because the results we have collected show that the horror genre is pretty popular and the reviews were mostly positive.
