  3. 3.  Google Apps for Education provides users the ability to take advantage of a massive pool for storage of files, sharing and collaboration abilities, and a free, online office suite of programs.  Google Apps provides us with the following suite of products:  Google Drive  Online (Cloud) storage and free office suite (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.)  Google Sites  Websites that are easily editable and can have items from other Google tools easily embedded without having to know HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)  Google Calendar  Create and share calendars for both school and personal events  Google Groups  Create mailing lists, discussions groups, and other sharing events
  4. 4.  Anytime, anywhere access because Google Apps works in any browser on any computer, which means you can access your calendars and documents from school or at home.  No flash drives required with documents and files stored in Google Drive.  Students can easily collaborate with students from other classes, buildings, schools, districts or even different countries on group projects.  Teachers can be involved throughout the whole assignment process providing comments and feedback directly in the documents.  Students can develop an e-portfolio of work throughout their years at the school.  Through websites, calendars, and email, parents can stay informed about the latest assignments and activities.
  5. 5. http://tinyurl.com/ccsgafe  Username: First Initial Last Name Last Five Digits of ID Number  Ex. rblack03646  Your login to the computer network here at school should be the same as your login to the Google Apps site.  Password: cabellgoogle  We will change this immediately upon the class logging in to the site.
  6. 6.  In the upper right hand corner of your browser window you should see your username.
  7. 7.  Click on your name and choose “Account”from the drop down presented.
  8. 8.  Find “Security” from the options presented on your screen.
  9. 9.  Under the Security, choose “Change password”
  10. 10. Type in your current default password: “cabellgoogle” Type in your new password in each box and hit “Change Password”My suggestions is to use the same password you use to login to the network here at school to make things easier for you, if that password meets Google’s security criteria.
