Google Apps for Education provides users the ability to take advantage of a
massive pool for storage of files, sharing and collaboration abilities, and a free,
online office suite of programs.
Google Apps provides us with the following suite of products:
Online (Cloud) storage and free office suite (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.)
Websites that are easily editable and can have items from other Google tools easily embedded
without having to know HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)
Create and share calendars for both school and personal events
Create mailing lists, discussions groups, and other sharing events
Anytime, anywhere access because Google Apps works in any browser on any
computer, which means you can access your calendars and documents from school
or at home.
No flash drives required with documents and files stored in Google Drive.
Students can easily collaborate with students from other classes, buildings, schools,
districts or even different countries on group projects.
Teachers can be involved throughout the whole assignment process providing
comments and feedback directly in the documents.
Students can develop an e-portfolio of work throughout their years at the school.
Through websites, calendars, and email, parents can stay informed about the latest
assignments and activities.
