What have you learned from youraudience feedback?
Uploading final pieces to Facebook Here I posted my radio advert, billboard and my newspaper front and inside cover. Once I had done this I made a questionnaire shown in the next two slides that I asked my audience to answer in order to find out whether my products were successful.
Questionnaire Part 1Based on The Radio Advert, Billboard and Newspaper I havecreated please answer the following questions:1) Do you think the products work well together?2) In the billboard do you find the direct message quick andeasy to understand? Yes or No3) Do you like the house style (colours) in the newspaper orwould you have liked to see something else if so state what?4) Do you find the jingle catchy in the radio advert? Yes or No5) Could you tell that the billboard and radio advert all relate tothe newspaper?
Questionnaire Part 26) Do you think the pictures are appropriate for a localnewspaper?7) In your opinion what should I have done differently in myprojects name one thing?8) Does the newspaper have a good structure like other realmedia products?9) Do you think the products have a good balance of text andimage?10) Which out of the newspaper, billboard and radio advert didyou like best and why?
Feedback from my audience Here is a sample of some of the answers I received from the questionnaire. From these answers I drew some statistics which I go on to show in the next slides
Here I wanted to see whether the final piecesworked together well. I found from my statistics that9 out of the 10 people said that they did. This meantthat I had successfully marketed and related each ofthe pieces together. I learnt here that in order for myproduct to be successful I wouldn’t be able to pleaseeveryone but I have to be able to please themajority. Do you think the products work well together? Yes No 0 2 4 6 8 10
100% of the people which answered the questionnairesaid that the billboard message was quick and easy tounderstand. This was vital as the newspaper I wasmaking was new so it needed a message that everyonecould understand as well as being able to recognise thatthe advert is for a local newspaper In the billboard do you find the direct message quick and easy to understand?NoYes 0 2 4 6 8 10 12
Do you like the house style (colours) in thenewspaper or would you have liked to see something else if so state what? No 30% Yes 70% The majority of the audience liked the house style of my newspaper but 30% of the people didn’t. The ones that didnt’t gave me some reasons why. I print screened these answers which are shown above on the right hand side.
Do you find the jingle catchy in the radio advert? 5 4.5 4 3.5 3 2.5 2 1.5 1 0.5 0 Yes NoHere I learnt from my audience feedback that the radioadvert wasn’t completely successful because half of thepeople didn’t find the advert catchy which is the wholepoint of a jingle. The audience helped me see what issuesthere were with the radio advert in later questions of thequestionnaire
Could you tell that the billboard and radio advert all relate to the newspaper? 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 Yes No The majority of the audience were able to recognise that the billboard and radio advert all related to the newspaper. Telling me that in terms of advertisement content I was successful in selling my product.
Do you think the pictures are appropriate for a local newspaper? No Yes 0 2 4 6 8 10 Everyone found the pictures appropriate for a local newspaper so I know that I fit the forms and conventions of a real media product.
In your opinion what should I have done differently in my projects name one thing? Here are a few of the answers I received for this question. I learnt that from this feedback the audience contradicted some of their previous answers so it was hard to tell whether I should take there critique on board. However I found that the main issues were in the radio advert and billboard saying that they should be more catchy and interesting
60% said that the structure of the newspaper fit in with real mediaproducts. However I learnt from this that the audience that answeredthese questions would typically look at newspapers like The Sun and TheDaily Mirror which pre established newspapers so comparing them to mynewspaper may not be accurate compared to if they compared it to alocal paper. With this fact aside I still find that the majority thought myproduct related to a real media product Does the newspaper have a good structure like other real media products? No 40% Yes 60%
Do you think the products have a good balance of text and image? No 10% Yes 90% Here the chart shows that 90% said that my products had good balance of text and image which meant that my product was appealing to the eye but also had enough information telling me I fit the forms and conventions of a real media product
Which out of the newspaper, billboard and radio advert did you like best and why? Most of the people liked thenewspaper over the billboard Newspaper Billboard Radio Advertand radio advert. I find this tobe a positive thing because the 10%newspaper is the main productso it should be valued more 30%than the others. 60%The next slide shows some ofthe answers I got from thisquestion
This feedback showed me what was successful and why the products were successful.
What I learned from this audience feedback was whethermy products were successful and if not they why theyweren’t. I was able to get a range of different opinions tosee if I met the criteria of my target audience. However Idid find that some of the people that answered thequestionnaire may not even take the time to read a reallocal newspaper which would then in turn mean that thestatistics I got may not be so reliable. Even still thesestatistics helped me learn about my own work and how itwould be treated with everyday people that may notnecessarily read the newspaper. The End
