  2. 2. As she would need to waitmany hours, she decided tobuy a book to spend hertime. She also bought apacket of cookies.
  3. 3. She sat downin anarmchair, inthe VIP roomof theairport, torest and readin peace.
  4. 4. Beside thearmchair wherethe packet ofcookies lay, aman sat down inthe next seat,opened hismagazine andstarted reading.
  5. 5. When she took out the firstcookie, the man took one also.She felt irritated but saidnothing. She just thought:“What a nerve! If I was in themood I would punch him fordaring To do so!”
  6. 6. For each cookie she took, the mantook one too.This was infuriating her but shedidn’t want to cause a scene.
  7. 7. When only one cookieremained, she thought:“ah... What Will thisabusive man do now?”Then, the man, taking thelast cookie, divided it intohalf, giving her one half.
  8. 8. Ah! That was too much!She was much too angry now! In a huff, she took her book,her things and stormed to the boarding place.
  9. 9. When she sat down in her seat, inside theplane, she looked into her purse to takeher eyeglasses, and, to her surprise, herpacket of cookies was there,untouched, unopened!
  10. 10. She felt soashamed!! She realized that she was wrong... She hadforgotten that her cookieswere kept in her purse.
  11. 11. The man had divided hiscookies with her,without feeling angeredor bitter.
  12. 12. ...while she hadbeen veryangry, thinkingthat she wasdividing hercookies withhim.And now therewas no chanceto explainherself...nor toapologize.”
