Wrightsville Performance Sailing hosting third annual fundraising event, supporting LINC LITE
Youth Development Program.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wilmington, NC, October 18, 2016: Step aboard November 5th for Wrightsville
Performance Sailing’s (WPS) annual on-water fundraising event! For 2016 WPS is offering one and a half
hour group sails for individuals or groups to up to 4-5 people for only $59 per person with 100% of sales and
gratuity directly benefiting the mission of the LITE Program. Further information and booking availability can

The LINC (Leading Into New Communities) LITE (LINC’s Initiative to Educate) program is a structured
enrichment program designed for African American males, ages 16-21, to reduce barriers in education
and/or employment. This program enables youth to remain enrolled in school and avoid direct
involvement with the juvenile justice system. Students involved experience a supportive group culture;
learn appropriate leadership skills, acceptable school and community behavior, and gain both self-
confidence and self-esteem. Additionally, students learn appropriate etiquette for advancement within
society through experiences such as tutoring, educational and cultural field trips, weekly “reality”
workshops, mentoring, and spiritual awareness.
