This lecture was presented at the recent meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2019 in San Francisco.
Whether or not you choose, you have a reputation to maintain, but where is your online reputation and how can you easily/automate monitoring what your patients are saying about you, your colleagues and your medical practice?
Aggregator sites (Healthgrades, Yelp, Vitals, etc.) compose >90% of your online reputation. Claiming your accounts is easy and free.
Monitoring your online reputation can be completely automated. Tips are given to set up email notifications for the few platforms that are NOT indexed by the search engines.
You should be aware of both positive and negative remarks about you. Responding to BOTH positive and negative comments is a must...and is a great way to encourage others to leave a remark.
Best of all, if you claim your aggregator accounts, your local SEO can improve dramatically!
All the best,
