The certification program contributes to healthier communities and environments by promoting the use of eco-friendly practices in daily business operations to achieve environmental preservation and reduced costs.

Certified Green Business • To become certified, a company must demonstrate “green” business practices in five categories: waste reduction and recycling, green purchasing, energy efficiency, staff training, and alternative transportation. The program is funded by local utility and government partners to make it accessible to businesses of all sizes. The California Green Business Program saved 835,334 metric tons of CO2, a savings value of $3,083,277 in 2016, which is equal to planting 44,161 acres of trees every year for 10 years.
